Government shutdown v. serious thread here bros

Ok, so I don't know much about this nonsense. The news is talking about 800,000 some odd federal employees being given forced furloughs until this shut down is over... why the fuck are the dumbasses in congress / the white house not having their pay frozen during this? I would think that stopping their paychecks would be a pretty good incentive for them to get over whatever their issues are and pass a fucking budget.

Honestly, if I can't go to a national park cause of this I'll be pissed.

And what the fuck? This is going to cost taxpayers $8B / week? The fuck?

 

America the stupid.

 

Pure and simple it,s a stunt fueled in large part by teabagger republicans who want to make deep cuts or eliminate entirely certain aspects of social programs. One teabag/gop representative said they would shut down the government unless funding was eliminated for planned parenthood. The country is being held hostage by these people. Seperation of church and state be damned these little people want their church/moral agenda enforced on the backs of all of America. Actually the whole stage of American politics scares the shit out of me right now. I wonder if this isn't exactly the climate that can lead to civil war. The country is radically polarized and getting more so it seems.

The political forums here might yield better answers than here...I don't know. I avoid those forums because its too contentious there. I'm really sick of all this shit. Sick of people using their personal moral beliefs as the driving force of how this nation responds to her own citizens.

 

Since I am a federal employee, I am glad that the shutdown did not occur since I am what everyone deems 'non-essential' (which feels great by the way, really complimentary)

Many politicians did agree to have their pay cut during the shut down...

 

Y'all should become like Canada, when the budget doesn't pass, an election is forced...
