Canada Federal Election - May 2011

I went to the London Ontario rally on Sunday for the Conservatives (I had to give a fake name to get onto the elite door list) and I saw Harper speak.

For a Sunday there sure was a whole lotta old people - roughly 500 attendees in total.

I'd estimate 65-70% of people there were male. 75-80% of the men were old. 95-98% of people were white. I counted two orientals and 4 Indians.

There were two Middle Eastern men behind me that were escorted out, after they asked if they could ask a question about Palestine. If they refused to leave, they were going to be charged with trespassing. Pretty racist IMO.

Harper's wife came out and gave the crowd a cheery American wave and then was never to be seen again. We were asked all to stand and sing O Canada. wtf?? Everyone was turning around to stare at me when I began singing in French.

Dude, I was totally in the Twilight Zone. Never been to a shitty rally like that where someone physically removed my coat because it was mandatory.

People got arrested in the parking lot for trespassing when they were going to their cars.

Harper didn't even have the decency to ask questions - or to talk with the public. It was just a photo op. Gawd, it was just awful.

 

That's really, really fucked up. Yet it doesn't surprise me.

Harper doesn't seem to care about any one or any single thing aside from the goddamn economy.

 

He doesn't care about the economy either. His policies will put us in the same boat as the US.

 

^^ Which he believes is the way to go, an unfortunate position. I am not sure who I really am going to vote for yet. If it comes down to it, Liberal or NDP, as its been said, to keep the conservatives out. If I had my way, Green, Libertarian. However unrealistic, I might still vote Green, because they will never gain momentum if Canadians are forever going "I cant vote Green, because they wont win" Your right, if nobody votes for a party because they do not think they will win, then they will not hold any more power then they do now. I do recognize that now is not the best time though.

 

I have argued against people voting against a party my whole life... it is not the way to run a country...

Unfortunately, in my opinion, right now it is more important to get rid of harper then absolutely anything else. I think he is an actual threat and danger to me, my friends and my family.

The way I am looking at it this time, is how would I feel if he won in this election by one mp, and in my riding, the mp could have been beaten by one vote... Yes, very unlikely that is to happen like that, but the point is valid...

Harper must go.

 

My vote will be for conservative

 

I will vote Liberal, the lesser of 3 evils as far as I'm concerned. NDP are useless and PC are right wing fascist dicks...

Think about this... if you have ever had your picture taken with public figure that isn't one of harpers cronnies, you no longer have any rights...

and he isn't even the prime minister anymore...

Imagine what it will be like if he got back in with a majority.

Have you ever voted for any party other then the PC? For your sake, I hope not if he wins... You just may get to experience those new prisons as a political instigator...

How's that for clarity? If harper wins, we instantly become a country where the citizens have no rights at all.

Think of the G20, across the country... Once he has full control, that is what he will implement...

Speak out? Get beaten and arrested...

The ONLY way to stop this, is for all those of you who usually sit back and don't get involved, to get out and vote against harper.

As you sit back and say, "I don't participate" you are handing this country to a facist pig...

In my opinion, the only ones who support him, are either rats or morons... take your pick...
