The 60s were a time when there was the opportunity; possibly for the first time, for the generation of the day to explode with exuberance. Be it Love, intoxication, political involvement, creative expression, education development, confidence a decade when I grew up with the freedom to indulge in many things. When the 'Pot of the day' was available for many to partake of. I think that everyone; in some degree - whether first or second hand, was close to or embraced the aromatic flavour with sufficient fulfillment And, dependant on the volume of it, went into directions that would be the begining of their pathway to their individual sense of morality and conviction
After much contemplation and experimentation with drugs (months with out smoking, all day every day, etc). I've finally come to find out what works for me with my relationship with drugs. They can be wonderful, and mind opening, but also destructive. I've seen great minds flourish and deteriorate due to drug use. Here's my idea: drugs should only be used for spiritual purposes, mind expansion, and personal growth. Broad and vague, but for me I know that means not getting high everyday, but only in nature to really connect with it all. It means that acid and other hallucinogens can be used as thinking drugs, and serve a totally useful purpose. To me, drugs aren't for "partying" and "getting fucked up," they're a move towards Enlightenment.
well i do smoke but to be a hippy you dont have to smoke pot just be your self and love nature and respect others
I don't know about anybody else but as a card carrying, licensed, certified old hippie (LCOH) I'm required to smoke dope at least once a week in order to maintain my license...so yeah I do. I mean...I got no choice
