Hi! I haven't ever posted on this forum but I have, however, read quite a bit! I'm in the Gifted and Talented program, it's kind of like a honor roll, at my school and I'm supposed to present a project on debates in history. I was thinking of doing a report on the legalization of pot in America and wondered if anyone had any facts, stories, or any overall information that would help me out with my report; it would be immensely appreciated! FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT:2thumbsup:! Sincerely, Graham
The only marijuana project I did in school "accidently blew up" in the kiln. My art teacher was a douche I told him it was for tobacco.
Here's a page with lots of facts/history about marijuana: http://brainz.org/420-milestones-history-marijuana/
Hey TopNotch! While you're at it can you tell me if I spelled Kiln right? I'm not sure and it's bugging me.
you're not "fighting the good fight".. you're just lookin like a fool to the class and a dipshit to the teacher..
The Gifted and Talented program is a program where people who scored higher than 95% percent in the state exams get put to be challenged more. I also honestly don't think, jo k er man, that I would look like a dipshit if I did my presentation intelligently and provided a lot of information. I wouldn't simply present information about why I believe pot is should be legalized, I would actually go in depth about the the drawbacks, certain legal cases, and other information about hard drugs for a brief time to show what marijuana is grouped with. I wouldn't just be another idiot pot head dropout and list all the reasons pot is "good", I would give reasoning for both the positives and the negatives. Believe me I'm not stupid.
Graham, I have little doubt you're a bright kid but it's not smart to post your full name on a forum full of strangers. I suggest you edit out your last name in your initial post. (And don't mention where you live.)
To be honest mate, It sounds like a really bad idea. I mean preaching the legalization of MJ to a bunch of teachers is social suicide... You seem like a bit of a posh lad too, trying to rebel or something? Teachers just aren't ready for debates about drugs (in my past experiences anyway)
I appreciate the insight that has been posted on this forum, i only wish there was a way to delete this thread. I guess I don't really appreciate the comments about my "lack of intelligence", but I guess it's my own fault for making that impression, I'm honestly not dumb. Oh well, I guess I learned my lesson not to post on this site.
Why is everybody in this thread being a dick? If he does it well and presents the information objectively it'll be fine. People have done presentations concerning marijuana legalization in plenty of my high school classes such as speech, debate and government. Anyway, to Graham, if you want information about pro-marijuana views then NORML's website is an excellent place to start. To get the other side of things I'd say check out Above The Influence, but to be honest they strike me as not being very credible at all because they so often make outrageous claims like that smoking a joint is the equivalent of smoking four cigarettes. Hope that helps.
Thank you Mr. Kewl and Top Notch for giving me that information! Those sites are very helpful and I think they'll give me a lot of content for my project!
Good luck with your project. Also, here's a great documentay you can watch. It contains lots of good info. It's narrated by Woody Harrelson too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sknoKWsVlAA"]YouTube - Grass: The History Of Marijuana
some people just take this shit a little more seriously than you do, but when have you ever done something with perfect approval. erowids.com good.too got articles on everythign
Tough crowd Graham! ha lol,, check out bills in California from when they legalized medicinal mJ...also Prop 19 this past summer(that was for full legalization, regulation, etc. tho)... currently Connecticut has submitted bills for Medicinal mj, while Washington State is now looking like its going to become the first state to fully legalize, regulate, sell whatever ,etc, good luck
There are some other really great documentaries...but I forgot what they were called...one of them was like "Stoned: Evolution of marijuana" or something like that. Its all about marijuana's past, present and future, and has a lot of great insight and factual shit about legalization and prohibition.
