Hi people, I've been reading this forum for a while and tried to get the answers to my questions without having to post but there are still some points I can't stop thinking about. I'm 18, I've been interested in psychedelics for a long time (Done things such as LSA, shrooms, salvia) and I've always been wanting to experience LSD. Couldn't say whether my motivations are " pure ", but I'm interested in the deep nature of the product, I would use it for personal growth only and not to " trip balls " as I've read in several other topics. But as much as I want to experience LSD, I can't stop thinking about the bad. Sometimes I think I'm ready for it ( as ready as you can be ) but then this idea keeps popping into my head and it completely terrifies me. I've never really experienced a bad trip while being on other products but I can't stand the idea of having a 7-hours long hellish trip in case things go wrong. I've seen a lot of younger people dropping acid without knowing what they were taking (basically not using it in a responsible way but only to get high) and being completely fine during and after the trip. I do believe in what LSD can bring to people in terms of open mindedness and spiritual growth and it's something I've always wanted to experience, but with these thoughts I just end up thinking I'm not ready for it.. I'm pretty sure many people have been in the same case than me, if you have any advice about it
I wouldn't stress over it, if you've done mushrooms. In my experience with many mushroom and LSD trips, it's essentially the same thing after the first hour and a half. I find mushrooms to be a more profound trip, possibly because of the difficulty in finding quality acid these days. The only bad trip I ever had was on mushrooms, when I took them by myself.
LSD is incredibly beautiful and euphoric. You'd have to either be in a really shitty setting, or have real issues going on to have a bad time on lucy. Don't worry so much about having a bad trip, one of the best ways to give yourself a bad trip is to worry too much about getting one. Remember that its FUN and AMAZING and INCREDIBLE. It's not a scary monster, its your own mind you will be swimming in, so don't be afraid of yourself.
Please remember set and setting, like we used to say in the 60's. Be in a safe space, make sure you have no responsibilities that day, and be with someone you trust completely.
Thank you all for your answers, it means a lot I'll try to go with the flow and will hopefully post a trip report pretty soon !
First, don't have any emotional attachments, or dependencies. They can confuse the trip a bit, dragging you into an emotional jungle of disturbing feelings. Make sure you're a free spirit, ready for the voyage, and don't assume that just ANY friend is a good friend. Sometimes when you drop, it turns out not that way. Mostly, do it in a safe, peaceful environment, void of hostility or confusion. I've done acid maybe 15 times, when I was younger. As you seem to imply, it's not just for "getting high". You learn that. It causes you to deeply introspect, and yes, you can always remind yourself that it's just a "trip", and won't last longer than around 8 hours, on a "normal" dose. I think even a stronger dose will last the same time span, just more intense.
9 out of 10 acid trips are good, and the other 1 is usually not so bad. All the energy it gives you really uplifts the spirits. If you took shrooms you will be fine on acid. Just let it fllooww..
tripsit someone else and maybe you'll gain more confidence. and the more you think about it, the more youre gonna worry. its kinda like awkward situations, the cause of them is 90% of the time one's thinking of awkwardness.
You say you've done shrooms and salvia. Those two are much more likely to produce "bad trips" than LSD is, imo. Just eat some L and drift away. Don't worry about it. The only think you have to fear is fear itself. That's a very cliche thing to say, but it's a very true statement, when it comes to psychedelics. If you go into it expecting a bad trip, then you'll be much more likely to have a bad trip.
I think this being ready to take psychedelics talk is silly, because with psychedelics you're never really ready in my opinion. That's what makes them so wonderful is they are so unpredictable and wild... Almost like riding roller coasters you just need to step on the ride, and enjoy.
Trips are basically unique. I take the good with the bad. I usually bring on the bad trips with my negative karmic energy. Get in a good place in your head first. This helps.
