I don't really have a negative opinion about the gatherings. I have a negative opinion about the hype surrounding gatherings. Something about huge groups of any type of person turns me off a little bit. I love people but I don't love thousands of people at once. I think I would still enjoy going to one.

It really has nothing to do with whiteness. Its more about wealth and power. We don't live in a day and age where the political landscape is only sculpted by white men anymore, and I think its becoming clear that power and money can corrupt anyone, regardless of race or creed.

Well, I plan to go, if I can. Hopefully I will find some sweet lady 50+ to go with me and show me what to do and where everything is. I have a camper with two beds, nothing expected but company on the trip. (I'm in Iowa.)

I'm not a hippie and never was, but I need to find some good people. It's been too long, and I've forgotten. There has to be a place to do that. I hope it's the Gathering.

first of all, there are no real hippies in the present generation. they try to dress and act as though they are. second, there is no reason to put some sort of label on various groups. hippie is not a look but a way of life. as far as what kind of people go to these gatherings, there is no clear-cut guidelines. as far as advertising, there really is nothing formal. as far as you go, rev, your arrogance really irks me. to hear something nice come from you would be a blessing. i, for one , really am a hippie, whereas you are nothing more than a pseudo-hippie(no insult, just a dose of reality). peace, paisley skye.
