Always wonderd what it was like. Babylon by Bus is one of my favorite albums, favorite live album. It just sounds like nothing else at the time...
..... and for me like nothing else since the time. Saw him and the Wailers here at Munich on 07-01-1980. Still one of my best concerts ever seen. Magic pure.
I saw him on Maui, Hawaii back around 1980 or so. He was FANTASTIC, so charismatic, his band was sooo tight! It was mezmerizing! I felt out-of-body, merging with the infinite (Jah, yah?). I'd been stuck in a house with a badly sprained ankle for months with just TWO Bob Marley tapes to listen to. Then the next thing I know, he's coming to Maui! By then I was addicted to Marley and Reggae like never before. His concert there was one of the highlights of my time living there (and there were MANY wonderful, super-high experiences there!)
im too young to have seen bob himself, but the wailers played for free at my little mountain town, it was gnar .
omg....i LOVE babylon by bus.....i cant even begin to tell you! You should check out BM&W live at the Roxy..1976. This runs a very close second to babylon by bus.....Im sure you'll love it! nothing beats marley live....i wish all his albums were live.
Saw him at Ontario Place in Toronto with Peter Tosh on guitar and the next summer we saw Peter Tosh there with his own band Sure do miss those boys
I haven't, but my old time friend Reed has, I saw Ziggy in a tini tiny venue in Denver thanks to my friend Scott.
Saw Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunny Livingston play with Stevie Wonder in the national stadium in Kingston, Jamaica in 1976. Legalize it and I will advertise it. P.Tosh
I know it's a bit off topic but I was a kid in Hollywood in the late 70s and there were a number of flute playing dreadlocked raggae nomads back then. Rastafarianism was spanning the globe.
If it ever becomes possible to travel back in time, seeing Bob Marley live in concert is on my list, right after meeting Jesus Christ.
:daisy:anyone who has seen him is so lucky to have had that chance<3 what are your guys's favorite songs? mine is the redemtion song!
i had the privilege of seeing bob marley shortly after rastaman vibration was released. in oakland, ca. probably 1976. got the last 2 tickets to a show at the paramount opened by little anthony and the imperials. shared the other ticket with my recently ex., though seats were separate. the staff enforced a strict no smoke policy, but the show was amazing. later, in 1980, i has row 2 tickets to a show in philadelphia...he played his last in pittsburgh two days earlier and cancelled. last show. my son's middle name is marley.
...neither played ontario place and tosh had left the wailers by the time they hit toronto the second time...first show was at masseu hall...both bands played maple leaf gardens seperately...i was at both.....good dope?
