Ever hear of the Tiny House Movement? Could design and build tiny houses, set em up with solar panels..
anything environmentally friendly is usually a "hippie job" For instance, I make a lot of crafts and things like that and sell them...however, the difference with me is that I use a lot of recycled items to do these things.
Selling Grilled Cheese Sandwiches or Veggie Burrito's in Dead, Phish, String Cheese, Panic, or moe. parking lots. Stay Brown, Rev J
I work at a daycare with infants, toddlers, or 3-4 year olds. Its a lot of fun, they always have me laughing my ass off. I'd rather work with kids than adults, they are straight up and free spirited. My plan is to become a full time artist though. My husband works for the city (we live in a really small town.) so he basically just digs holes and drives around a lot, and gets to play in the dirt all day.
Haha, what she said. Another great career for a hippie is to be your own boss. Get some land, some animals, grow gardens, can your food, rent out rooms in your house, barter for things: "i'll give you a dozen eggs for that piece of art" etc. This works best with other self-sustainers. Another one is a spiritual leader or healer of some kind, a buddhist teacher, a priest, a yoga instructor, a massage therapist, a reiki healer. Also, astrology seems to attract a lot of hippies, too. Other stuff to do to make money freelance: Busk on the street corner by playing guitar/singing, playing any kind of instrument, ripping out those crazy hackysack or juggling skills, reading your amazing poetry! At festivals or the beach sell homemade jewelry, henna tattoos (what beach bums don't love those things), cheap art, anything! Also in regard to selling stuff, make your own online store with the stuff you make.
Helping the homeless, volunteering at soup kitchens and charities where you hand out stuff for poor kids who have to go to school, giving money to the bums on the street who DON'T act like attention whores.
Charity work, voluntary work, with animals or homeless people. Definitely a job that helps others have a better quality of life
Time to dispel a myth. There are no hippie stores in San Francisco. Haight Street is just a shopping mall with dope dealers and Gutter Punks throwing on Tie Dyes and selling $5 quantities of pot for $20 and calling themselves hippies while hanging out with their Pit Bulls trying to intimidate people. The attitude has changed from "What can I do for you" to "What can you do for me". It is capitalizing on a relic from 40 years ago. Stay Brown, Rev J
You hippies should get off your butts and get a job, start a family, and live in a HOME. Don't forget to take a shower everyday! So get off the hemp and go back to collage.
I am a stay @ home mom. I also am an artist. I think we can do anything as long as we are grounded, and true. We are everywhere! We see the world in a different way. The world is colorful because of us!:sunny:
