We tried shaving my cat today...and it turned into a disaster area of him getting extremely angry at us...anyone know of a way to even out a hack job like this? you can kinda tell in the picture but trust me, he looks like hell haha! We find it comical but his masculinity is at stake here!
cat does not look to happy.. I can haz cheezeburger coming up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAKL3Og-zGc"]YouTube - Hand Banana
i cannot imagine why anyone would shave a cat...i once washed a cat. he was a garage cat, slithered underneath my truck. got so greasy, i couldn't stand to look at him. put a dog harness on him, lathered him up with dish soap to get the grease out of his fur. he went nuts. xgf happened to come over while i had him tied to the fence trying to rinse him...sez 'let poor whatisface go! you don't wash cats!'. he was making circles up and down the fence while i tried to catch him; i finally just tossed some water on him every time he came round my way... she untied him...he climbed her like a phone pole...scratched the crap out of her. i laughed. wouldn't let me near him for a couple weeks. i would sleep in a locked room were i you. puddy tat will get revenge....rightly so...
I'm back to the why question. Really...was his fur matted? You wanted to test his endurance...cause kitty endurance for BS is realllllllly low. lol If it was just cause you were high...my goodness...I ain't never had that good of stuff! lol, and I been around a while.
Why on Earth would you shave a cat?! I would understand if his hair was matted, but from what I can see in the picture you posted, he looks like a short-haired cat to me--and even so, I would have gotten a brush and tried to brush the mats out first before resorting to measures such as this! My cat Shadow had some mats in her hair a while back, and I managed to brush them out--no way would I try to shave either of my cats--they would be highly pissed off at me if I did!
When my girl, BB, got rescued, she had places on the top of her head that were literally melted (most probably from poppers) and I carefully and s l o w l y just about a 1/2" sq place was cut with sharp hair shears. I've never had a cat that would've handled that...being shaved. That is one damn good cat. And his pic was taken later?!? mercy Is this really a joke?
i've got one that needs serious cutting, if not shaving dreading the task, he's feral and bites when he's displeased sometimes i wish i had dogs . . . or monkeys . . .
My cat used to love being shaved. And to all of you people asking why...he is a VERY long haired cat. Cat litter and shit was getting stuck to his fur and placed all over my house so we had to do something. I'm probably going to end up taking him to a grooming place to have them fix him up. And I know a lot of people who shave their cats so I don't know why this seems so odd
it seems odd because before this you only said that you shaved your cat and you were high ..... if their was a real reason then it wouldn't be so odd... like the reason above, that made you slighty less odd...
There is nowhere that says I was high...I haven't smoked in a few months...so where people are getting that information is beyond me...
Talk about catitude ! I bet he is freakin livid . Someones going to be taking a header down the steps REAL soon , after getting their legs "innocently" tangled up with their shaved pussies body . I mean just , WOW ! From the picture it looks like a short haired cat , you said no though right ? Long haired ? It now looks like he has the mange or some shit . It will grow back in time . But he for sure looks strange now . What may happen though if he isn't completely shaved now, the hair may grow back longer in the shaved spot . Especially if you have shaved him before . It wont be so noticeable if he does in fact have long hair . But it may be very noticeable if he has short hair . I think I'd take him to a groomer and even it out . Either way you got one pissed feline on your hands . Note to self , no more shaving the puddy tat , high or straight .
yeah he is very very long-haired and he becomes miserable in the summer months with heat and stuff...like I said, he used to love getting a buzz cut every now and then but yesterday he gave us hell for it! I think because of the dry heat and change in temperatures, his skin is sensitive...I'm going to bring him somewhere this week to have it evened out
Yeah I have 4 cats one has long hair , and you're right it is a pain . If we don't keep her brushed out it can become matted and a real mess . It's funny though she is my best cat , and best hunter too . She always gets the feild mice that get into the house . Which is more then I can say for her sister feline or my two males , they could care less . Life is just one big party to them .
Please use caution when doing your cat before it ends up looking like this. I know a lot of cat people and none of them shave down their pets, they brush them out instead. Hope your cat recovers, especially it's dignity!
