For the first time ever, Rachel Maddow's MSNBC show drew more viewers in the main demographic than did Fox New's Glenn Beck. In fact, Fox News is down this week dramatically in viewers as is CNN as MSNBC drew viewers from both channels. It's an amazing feat when you consider that Fox News is available on millions more TVs than MSNBC is... Maybe Fox News ain't so hot anymore! I noticed a new commercial for Rachel Maddow's show on MSNBC. The commercial made her look good, so maybe it's having an effect. Perhaps the departure of Keith Olbermann will actually help MSNBC. His replacement is doing nearly the same numbers as Keith did, but Rachel is now doing more than ever before. She might even threaten Sean Hannity's Fox show (he's #2 next to O'Reilly). Rachel Maddow is now the #1 star on MSNBC. Let's hope it lasts because she is doing the media's dirty work, that they refuse to do anymore. http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/category/ratings
No, only dumb-shits swallow it whole... TV news still drives the majority I'm afraid, probably a good idea to at least keep tabs, ya know? :afro: Thumbs up to Maddow, BTW :2thumbsup: Zw
Only dumb shits would say such an asinine comment. Hey if it's on the internet and not on TV it's gotta be true.
Don't mind me Syd, I'm just bein' an ass. LOL But I do often find that televised news is often agenda based for the wrong reasons. That's why I gave up on it long ago. But it would be unfair to say that everything everyone from Maddow to Hannity from Beck to Matthews are all partisan propaganda. Sometimes they'll do segments that are merit worthy and they have constructive interviews and reports. Shit I sometimes purchase newspapers from vending machines. But I'll still be an alternative media junkie forever.
I think everyone should be pleased that not only is Maddow's numbers going up, but Becks are going down. The Hate Monger and his ilk (the other fox newsies) are no longer gaining market share, but losing it! This is a sign people are either wising up or just getting tired of the lies.
Up here in Alaska when you purchase a cable TV package (+ or - 60 stations ) called the "Essentials" it comes with Fox news. If you want MSNBC you have to pay an extra $6/mo. I don't know how typical this is but it could certainly affect numbers of viewers Fox gets compared to MSNBC
Beck will end his Fox News TV show, but his production company will do other things for Fox. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/04/06/glenn-beck-to-transition-_n_845573.html
isn't it nice that he started this forum so you could express this opinion? skip, tell the nice person "you're welcome" [then do what comes natural]
What an ignorant thing to say - One thing Skip is not - is stupid. BTW - this is HIP FORUMs - not the Beck, Hannady or Rush fan club.
It is the improving economy. When you see up to sixty percent of retirement savings go down the drain like water and just keep getting bad economic forecasts, then the pessimistic predictions of eminent doom gain a lot of traction and just love someone to blame.
