Alice Glass, the singer from Crystal Castles is truly a beautiful person, really she is. At the age of 14 she changed her name to Vicki something and ran away to live among the punks and drug addicts. I wish I could find more info on her! :bomb:

Whats your favorite Crystal Castles song?
I'm in love with "Magic Spells" and "Knights". Both very good songs to wrap your mind around when high. :sunny:

    1991, Baptism, Cry Babies.

I heard 1991 on MDMA one time and went berserk.

i'm a fan. saw them on t4 here one afternoon playing a live version of crimewave for a music show. bought the album, then saw them not too long after that.

i love alice practice, mostly because of the aggression. skins sort of pissed on it a little though. either way, you all have good taste - two quality purchases there.

alice glass is like the most badass chick that ever lived.

first found out about crystal castles when i saw them at bonnaroo '09. that show was mindblowing. i was on mdma and at a point i thought that if i didn't get out of the crowd i was going to die. i went to the side of the crowd and then i could see the future while the music was playing. it was really crazy.

saw them one other time while candyflipping when they were doing a three-show tour through the southeast. it was funny because most of the people in the crowd there were also at the bonnaroo show.

then saw them the next night in my hometown on lsd. favorite part was when alice sang untrust us without using backup-prerecorded vocals (sometimes they do when they play this song live) oh my god. it was like a cosmic-gasm. some of my friends were hanging around the venue after the show and actually got to meet alice and ethan. although my friend that drove me there and group of people that were in our car were being super intense after the show and wanting to get to the car and leave like immediately. so i had to go with them, otherwise i would have met alice!

favorite songs are probably untrust us, alice practice, baptism, year of silence. i like it all though really.

^this show literally just caused one big pool of melted faces and psychedelia.

i'm honestly not a fan, the music is OK but nothing special. plus it is too bleak and depressing for my taste. and alice glass is not badass, i dont see how, because she ran away from home??
i did that when i was seven to live with my drug addict cousin and no one calls me badass.

i just don't see the appeal in the girl. care to explain?

just the music. i guess i can understand how at a first glance it might not look that appealing. but really the music has some damn good vibes.

i just say that because of their onstage persona.

I personally don't find their music to be awesome...it's just ok. And I really couldn't roll to it either it just to mellow for my taste, but to each his own.

people who think crystal castles are just ok need to hear their less known songs, like the songs i mentioned... 1991, cry babies. fucking insane tunes! and great to roll on.

i have heard all their songs thanks to my ex who likes them. i still found them ok but not really something i'd seek out again to listen to, not even when high. but yeah to each their own.

There's another version of "Not in Love" with Robert Smith on vocals, which I prefer over the original.
I'd have to say my favorite song, though, is "Violent Dreams".

I'm so glad i came across this thread, i thought about it when i woke up but forgot about it...

Last night i had a dream that I came into contact with Alice Glass and invited her over for a jam, to test her vocals on some electronic tracks of mine which i have been making a lot of lately. So she came over, we got drunk, she took off her pants and sang in her underwear and i danced and floated around. She referred to Ethan Kath as the 'captain' of crystal castles saying, " i love when the captain puts our music into gear."

The strange thing about this dream is i have only seen a few photos of Alice and don't listen to crystal castles very often.

Anyways, I thought that i would share this dream with you crystal castles fans in hope that you too can have a drunken underwear jam with alice glass in your sleep.
