why is it ok for carnivorous animals to kill, torture, and eat other animals, but not people?

someone should start a coalition to convert lions tigers and bears to vegan diets, seriously. animal on animal cruelty has gone far enough!

    1. They need to eat other animals to survive (whilst humans can lead a perfectly healthy lifestyle otherwise).

    2. This is natural, and animals need to perform their own cull to keep species stability.

    3. What we're doing, is mass producing animals and through this, losing 10* the amount of energy through feeding an animal than if we just ate the food we're wasting on their diet. Not to mention the environmental damage.

These are just a few of countless reasons.. I'm afraid ignorance is at an all time high :(

you do realize the sharp front teeth evolved to tear up meat, right? us eating meat is just as natural as any other animal omnivorous or carnivorous animal doing so.

got a problem with the way animals are raised? eat that range whatever crap. but seriously, we're animals too. stop being so self righteous and go kill a deer, rip its heart out with your bare hands, and eat it to absorb its power. that's what the indians did. ever seen last of the mohicans?

Like JohnnyH said, They need them we don't.
They aren't as smart as us, Like they can't grow their own food.
Do they think it's wrong like us vegetarians? doubt it.

About as natural as you popping down to the supermarket, buying your pre-prepared meat, pre-wrapped in a plastic film?

There have probably been 100's of these threads over the years on HF. Same arguments. Same comments. Same rebuttals.

Well is it okay to eat meat that was accidentally killed?
Cuz, if not, am I gonna go to hell if I decide that I want to eat the squirrel that my neighbor accidentally hit with her SUV?

You know some people are vegetarian-

    1-For Health Reasons
    2-For Moral Reasons
    3-For Political Reasons
    4-Because they're crazy.
5-Something to do with Pluto not being a planet anymore (that's my reason)

That's why most arguments against it are just sort of silly. And boring after awhile.

And I've been a vegetarian longer than some of you have been alive.

    Dear Omnivores

Why do you care if someone else is a vegetarian? How does it even affect your life? We can choose what we want to eat and some people choose differently than you. Get over it.

    lol, so true

OP, At this point, almost nothing that we humans do is very natural. Unless you live completely out in nature and you catch your own food, just shut up about what is 'natural' (Which you don't obviously, because you are using the internet)

I don't care what other people eat
I'm not a vegetarian, I'm just an asshole
I don't ever really /crave/ meat, and therefore never really eat it
but I don't go out of my way to not eat animal products, if you know what I mean
I just like throwing in my two cents to be a douchebag
    :)

I actually eat meat now too, although I used to be a vegetarian... but I just don't get why omnivores get so offended by vegetarians

I'm not offended, I just like making fun of them.
I also make fun of people who try to pull that "I eat nothing but meat, lettuce is roughage and for rabbits" shit
