be careful with kundalini meditations, if your not ready to release that energy you can seriously fuck yourself up from what ive heard. meditation is great though, just sit down, close your eyes and shut up for 15 minutes, thats all there is too it really.

You should know right off the bat that no meditation is going to be "DMT like". Nothing besides for a good tryptamine psychedelic is going to be "DMT like", especially not any kind of meditation. Flame away, but no amount of mindfulness or focus can imitate a major psychedelic and it's actions.

Eimantas, you allow thoughts to come and go and you do not think about anything in particular. When you catch yourself thinking about something, watch your thinking. Continuously watch the thinking and the one doing the thinking. The subject matter of your thoughts is beside the point; the point is that you see that your thoughts are not reality. Thoughts are to the brain as bile is to the liver, meditation as i understand it is for seeing through the incessant whispers of your brain

think about nothing if you can, that can be hard to do sometimes. Thats when you do what Mr Writer said and try to observe like a 3rd party. For me, its about putting my ego in check, stop trying to label and control everything with your logical brain and just be. Its really nice to meditate by a river if you can, its a good soothing constant sound that can really take you away. If there is sound though, I try to hear all the sounds together like a symphony instead of seperating and processing everthing i hear. Your ego wants to say, well that was a bird, a car drove by, somebodys mowing the lawn and a dog is barking, but try not to pay attention to that, dont label anything or try to explain or understand it at all, just hear it.
Ive never really had a psychedelic experience with meditation, but i have deffinitely had profound experiences. Ive felt that ive left my body and was observing the room from the corner by the ceiling behind me, intesnse rushes of energy, and other very cool things. I always smoke herb when i meditate if at all possible, its really great for that. So are sunsets. Usually i like to close my eyes but if im in nature i will meditate with my eyes open. When i do this though i try to see everything in the same way i describe the way i hear all the sounds. I look at the mountains and the trees and the sun setting behind the clouds, but i try not to think about that. I just try to see the color, the energy.

it will be yet another thing your mind will cling to. Proper meditation is in silence.

You might want to check out the Yoga and Meditation forum. The place where you are sitting doesnt matter. Just sit somewhere comfortable. I reccoment sitting and not lying down, because if you're anything like me, you'll just fall asleep. For beginning maybe look up Mantra Meditation or Mindfullness meditation. I know that you can download a beginner's guide for free, just google ''download discover meditation'' and it'll come up.

You might also want to look in to sensory deprivation chambers if you are not in to drugs. I havent done it, but it's next on my to do list.

silence is best or some really chill music, but its hard to find something that works for me anyway, most of the time everything about the music will be fine and then one stupid insturment or something comes in and distracts me.

If you dont hve music or earplugs, sometimes it helps to turn on a fan, or even turn on the tv on a channel with no service so you just get the fuzz and turn it down (just so you have some constant background noise this helps)

If you cant get silence though, try doing what i said before, and hearing all the diffent sounds together as one thing instead of trying to label and understand what your hearing, this is a very cool ego- dissolving activity

Ive tried to bundle up and meditate during winter but the cold always makes you very aware of your body and ego so that is hard to do, just have to wiat till its nice. Or (unless its real bad outside and you will get stuck) i have even meditated in my truck. Just drive somewhere witha cool view.

Alex grey sells a thing called the mindfold, its just a blindfold and ear plugs, maybe something like that would help.
