there is no one way of practicing islam

there is no one standard for modesty in islam

some feel uncomfortable in the burqa; others out of it

do you feel modest when nude?

    there is your answer...

    Peace be upon you!

    Please pray:

1= In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.

2= All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds,

    3= The Gracious, the Merciful,

4= Master of the Day of Judgment.

5= Thee alone do we worship and Thee alone do we implore for help.

6= Guide us in the right path —

7= The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings, those who have not incurred Thy displeasure, and those who have not gone astray.

O children of Adam! We have indeed sent down to you raiment to cover your shame, and to be an elegant dress; but the raiment of righteousness — that is the best. That is one of the Signs of Allah, that they may remember.

well first bro take it from a fellow revert, becoming a muslim is easy, staying one is tough. but also remember this.....
    1. islam is religion not ethinic or cultural.
    2. we each make our own interptation of islam regardless of what you iman or mufti says.
    3. you cam form the wound naked and wet and you will leave it the same.

so what you do with you body and soul is your decsion imbracing what flesh you creator gave you can be as much a form of salat just as much as praying five times a day. but remember this your are responsable for yourself who know there might be a someone in the ummah looking for a fellow nudist to hang with .

I was introduced to both Christianity and Islam at an early age. Off the top of my head, I can think of some of the main things that I considered when choosing which way to go.

Islam teaches that Muhammad is the Paraclete or Comforter that Jesus predicted.
Christians teach that the Comforter is the Holy Spirit, not an individual prophet.

Islam teaches the strict unity of God (one person, not three), Christian monotheism allows for the existence of the three persons in the Godhead united as One.

Islam teaches that Jesus was a prophet, not divine. Christianity teaches that he was also God the Son in human form.

Islam teaches that the Bible Christians possess has been altered from its original correct form and that the Quran corrects those errors. Christians take different views on how literal or how accurate their Bible is, but most support the key teachings, conservative evangelicals tend to treat it as inerrant, but the interpretation sometimes requires careful study and a metaphorical application. Christians teach that the book of Revelation marks the last book in the sacred scriptures and that any other books are not binding on the believer.

If you choose Islam, you might consider the differences between Sunni and Shiite expressions of the faith. Sufi is an offshoot of Shiite Islam, but is so different that it requires special study on its own.

There are plenty of other differences, but this highlights some that I can think of and urge you to consider as well.

There are many other faiths in the world. I just wrote about the ones I knew the most about.

    How very open-minded.
By ''be free and do what you want'' you actually mean ''don't convert to Islam, accept MY values and beliefs because they're very liberal and therefore better. Go be free and naked.''

To me you're not any better than any priest or imam telling people how should they live their lives.

I think if you have to question weather to practice Islam or not then maybe your heart isn't completely in it. Just know that you will ALWAYS get the same reaction that your family gave you, people have a bad taste in their mouths for Islam in general since the war in Afghanistan (not me personally but you know how people are).

Personally, I strongly suspect that it mostly rebellion in your thinking. You do not need to accept everything about a belief system. You don't have to fully believe what everyone else in that belief system believes. If you do, you are not thinking.

As Jesus says, they are blind leading the blind, and when the blind lead the blind, both fall head long into the pit.

Religious titles are all BS. There are very few people in the world who obey God. Most believe what they want to believe. For example, the Bible specifically says, in several places, that Jesus is the son of Joseph. People just ignore it though, 'cause they don't want to believe it.

The feeling I get from reading what you write about how people were mistreated when they told their families that they are Muslims, suggests to me that you also want to be rebellious.

If you truly believe in a religion, you change your behavior accordingly. I could see if you were addicted to something, then it is hard to change, but if you just like to be naked... That don't seem like much of a change.

God's law specifically says to honor your father and mother. Not rebel against them. If you truly believe, that is one thing, but don't do it to shock or hurt your parents. Have you talked to your parents about it?

Don't waste your life deciding on "answers" at such a young age. Live life, learn all you can about everything you can-- the quest for knowledge is the highest calling a human can have. If you decide now how your life is to be--you're done learning. That is,you'll be stuck in one place in your life via your mind, adhering to tenets that disallow further experience and inquisitiveness regarding existance and humans place in it. Do not restrict yourself to one avenue of thought--learn--and learn some more--research--and research some more. The world is open to you--take it.

What do you mean, "at such a young age"? 17 is old enough to destroy your life through sin. Many have already done so by that age.

You can not erase the past. You can not change the mistakes you made in the past. You can only change your future.

You are free to have any kind of imaginary friend you want. The fact that so many people try to speak for "God" should demonstrate to you that there's simply no God to speak for himself. If there really was a god there would be no ambiguity or debate about his instructions.

Conceiva. Perhaps only thru sin can one earn redemption.-----------------but what I really mean is--you either know what I mean or you have stopped learning.

I think you should think one more time about conversion. Study little more about Islam and what KURAN said about the Islam. This is very important to convert into any community or any religion. If you do study well and you are satisfied with the study than only decide the conversion.
