I can't ever, ever get through reading "Love You Forever" by Robert Munsch without getting choked up. Never fails! "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, As long as I'm living, My baby you'll be." Definitely an emotional book for mamas.
My second grade teacher read that book to the class. She cried as she read it. She was 7 months pregnant with a little boy. I cried too. I bought my sister that book when she was a month pregnant. She had read it, but not in a loong time. My brother in law had never read it. I gave him the book when he got off work. He cried for a good 10 minutes. It was the sweetest thing.
A Dog Called Kitty by Bill Wallace (copyright 1980)...I found this the other week at a Goodwill Store (where I find some wonderful books ), and I will admit I wept at a certain part of the story.
Oh, another fellow Good Will book shopper! I stop in several times a month to check out the books for my kids. I've found some great ones, some that appear brand spanking new, only for .50! It's great to expand the book collection, no doubt!
One of my favorite places for book browsing is the second hand store. My favorite store has a whole wall, floor to ceiling of books. Its heaven. I found my favorite children's book, Ella Enchanted for 25 cents!! It was awesome. I squealed when I saw it. lol
Yeah, I know what you mean! My oldest son is into a particular book series and it seems like everytime I've gone lately I've been able to score some seemingly brand new books from that series for him. I'll be standing there looking through the books and get sooo excited to find one! Feel like a kid in a candy store!
God that was me and my mom's book... I had forgotten it... "i'll love you forever, my baby you'll be..." And the Giving Tree always made me tear up as well.
