https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f12gqM5tvvo"]YouTube - Virgin Mobile Commercial - Extended Tree Version A 30 second how to on how to use your Virgin Mobile cell phone to stalk someone. Fucking perfect. Can you imagine the public uproar if they did the exact same commercial with a man up the tree saying all of the same things? Yes there are stalkers on earth and yes they are going to do it weather there is a commercial out there telling them how to do it or not. Yes stalker jokes have become a part of popular culture but to me this is going a little too far. Somehow it wouldn't surprise me if someone was stalked and killed and they found an Android Powered Virgin Wireless Phone in their pocket. I realize that Virgin isn't the only company that offers an android phone but they are the only ones who advertise them like this. One of the major rules of advertising is to know your demographic. What demographic are they trying to sell phones to? In the name of disclosure I have a stripped down Virgin wireless pay as you go phone. I'm thinking about making a bunch of calls to eat up my minutes and getting something different because of this ad. Stay Brown, Rev J
^lol the ad does what its supposed to do, i guess. It is a little creepy, but I find most advertisements to be a little creepy.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqX7VxW3wL0"]YouTube - Pregnancy Test This commercial always disturbed the hell out of me for a number of reasons. It seems to be marketed towards men, which is weird because its a pregnancy test
I thought the one in the closet was pretty creepy at first but by the time it was over I decided it was pretty harmless. The checking his log ins for patterns or whatever she said was pretty damn nuts though. I think the ones that boss you around are creepy, or the ones that straight up lie to millions of people without the information to realize they are lying (Internet companies always do this), but the creepiest are the medical commercials. First, there are the ones that say they may cause suicidal or homicidal thoughts or actions, but even creepier are the hospice and hospital commercials that act so fucking ..parental and loving and human. It reminds me of Umbrella Corp or something.
i always thought the pregnancy test with the pee was just too far and gross. Really? Do we need to see the pee coming down? Ugh When I first saw the phone one, I had to watch it twice. Then, I thought she would get hit by the lightning. That would have been funny! Oh well. I saw the car one for the first time and that was freaking hilarious. Made me LOL. Thanks! I know this was disturbing commercials, but is there a thread on funny ones too? I would love to see that.
The creepy thing about the stalking ad is that it is not so creepy when a woman does it because you expect such emotional deviancy from a woman? Yeah, plays to some strange politics there.
90 percent of commercials creep me out. especially when they're like "YOU NEED TO BUY THIS!" no. no i dont.
Perhaps in a Fatal Attraction, The Hand That Rocked the Cradle, and Play Misty for Me sort of way Hotwater
The whole field of technology is getting very creepy to me. Cell phones are the last thing I give a shit about though, so I couldn't care less. If something is called an "Android" I don't want anything to do with it...
I thought the same thing about that commercial when I saw it! Doesn't help that Virgin has the worst commercials, anyway, but yeah, the stalker thing is really ridiculous! Now everyone is going to get Android phones just to stalk people
This is like a Car ad that's what makes it so weird. I was walking past a Dollar Store in SF and saw pregnancy tests in the window. I don't know what the brand name was I think it was something like "Second Opinion". Stay Brown, Rev J
I loved that commericial. One of my favorites in the last few months. This one, and the sharks snickers commercial.
Kinda creepy, and kinda stupid. I mean, I don't think it's about to encourage any stalkers. The big moment is 25 bucks a month. and fuck, they got me.
Rev J, I think you have unfortunately fallen right into the advertiser's trap. By posting their ad here, you've been giving them free advertising and have apparently made them a sale or two. Ads sometimes try to be controversial on purpose to generate "buzz". And yes, this ad also encourages the worst parts of human behavior, something all too common in advertising.
There's another with her in the closet. I personally find this ad fucking hilarious, "That's CRAZY, RIGHT?" - with that crazy look on her face. That is funny stuff right there. What WOULD be disturbing is if it was an ugly creepy man stalking a beautiful woman...
well I think that was part of the rev's point. why is it okay for a woman to be portrayed as a stalker but it would be creepy if it were a man?
