Anyone else love this movie as much as I do? It's my favorite movie of all time actually.

A Clockwork Orange is pretty awesome. I would highly suggest reading the book if you haven't done so.

I watched the movie a while back, but never could get into it. I was probably missing the point, but all I got from it was a gang of guys running around beating people up. A few strangely awkward moments. I know there's something I missed. Any insight?

One of my most hated movies.

Yeah, I get (I think) what it is about - and that the cruel crap they do at first is the setup for the "rehabilitation"; but I just don't get off on movies where people are randomly beat and tortured just for fun. Just not my type of flick.

At the same time, I recognize it is a "strong" movie, due to that very fact that I have such feelings about it. But I just can't get into that type of shit.

From what I've read, the author of the book that the movie is based on, was actually not entirely happy with the film because he felt it glorified violence, and made it easy for people to misunderstand his message. This is why I would recommend reading the book regardless of whether you watch the movie, but definitely read if if you're going to watch the film.

It deals with questions of morality and free will and was just a very interesting read in my opinion.

(And for the record Dr. Strangelove, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb is one of my favorite movies, and Spartacus is my favorite historical epic)

Love love love the movie and the book. I got my boyfriend into this movie, and he proceeded to show it to all his friends and now they love it as well. For Christmas he even got me a necklace with Alex's (funny that my boyfriend's name is also Alex lol) prison number, I loved it.
