I view clothes as an incredible way to express myself and how I feel at the moment and I don't really see anything wrong with that. I like dressing for a certain effect. There are certain styles that I find more attractive than others and I think that is pretty normal for most people.
Well, you were replying to me when you said people were judging others, so it seemed like were talking about me. My apologies for misunderstanding.
It's cool. I apologize for making it seem like I was directing that at you. Your post was just an example of people being labeled as a certain type of person because of the music they listen to, because you said people probably call you and indie hipster because of your taste in music. I listen to indie hipster music too, as well as rap, classical, rock, etc.
I agree. You can't dress like a thug. A thug is a lifestyle not a dress style. A thug is someone who is a criminal. or a wannabe thug. someone who thinks it is cool to act like they are a thug. When I responded to this thread I was thinking more about the lifestyle and what it the attraction is to the thug lifestyle. and why women like thug acting guys. cus so many kids in suburbs like to pretend they are some gangsters or something. and it is dumb. being a gangster is not cool. put those kids in some hardcore neighborhoods and they would be changing their mind real fast. Here is a positive song for you all to listen to. It has positive lyrics unlike gangsta rap. I recommend all of you who do not like hip-hop to put the song to 1:12 and just listen to the lyrics for like 45seconds and let me know what you think. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lH3hrtp1T84"]YouTube - Gang Starr - Moment Of Truth
Some sad and effective story-telling from the most famous "thug" to ever walk the earth. Only a "thug" could tell such a story. *Really Old Hipforums Reference Alert* Bubbles sucked and so did all his reincarnations. He was the only one that left an impresion on me cause I can't remember the other 29 THUGS I've made fun of on this site.
tony hawk 4 was the pinnacle of the series. THUG was a definite turning point, and it was all downhill from there.
Youth these days. I would say a good percentage sees the lifestyle as a 'rich and famous' lifestyle and want to live like (what some would refer to themselves as rockstars) 'rapstars'. It's American, unfortunately kids being raised by kids has become more common, and very few are paying attention to the direction the youth is headed to. It's actually a very sad thing... I'm worried to see how (and who) the country will be ran in 20 years.
IMO, yes. That's what it's basically turned into. A life of glamor and glitz, no one really cares what they are rapping about. Well, here in American anyway.
I see what you're saying. I was looking at what you said from a different perspective than how you ment it. Makes sense. The internet has turned me into a very nationalistically defenceve person
haha, I had self doubt for just a second that I wasn't clear. The internet is like wondering through a tropical jungle.
