Some U.S. senator or or something who has some pretty cool videos on liberty. Some people seem to hate him. I think, if nothing else, he's passionate about rights. Either that or he's a brilliant CIA diversion.
never heard of him sounds like a typical let the rich do whatever they want and things will get better somehow sort of non-thinker
He's the only one to have the balls to say something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPwNk0CJSiY"]YouTube - Ron Paul- Israel Created Hamas! www RentFree4Life com https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Q9WzCrLuC4"]YouTube - Ron Paul Educates McCain
Never heard of him????? He ran for president in 2008 for God's sakes... Did anyone even pay attention to anyone other than the two buffoons always on the news during that election? God knows he would've made a better president than any of the yahoos up there now.
On no... he's a thinker, and one who has big ideas! Unfortunately, as I see it anyway, the result of those ideas being implemented would be practically the same as would those of his less intellectually accomplished cohorts on the right. It's an outlook that equates morality with economic status. The biggest point in his favor is that he's not a militaristic neo-con like are so many in the Republican and (particularly shamefully) Democratic parties.
I don't think he's a moralist. More like a pragmatist. He opposes their foreign wars because it's bad for America. Which is probably why he's running with the republicans. Though republican seems to stand for pro-war no matter what it does for the country, so it's no surprise many don't like him.
He's not a moralist like say Newt Gingrich (and considering Newt's background - well that's another story) or Huckabee, Santorum and so on... in this sense I agree with you. Here is how I think he is similar to these intellectual lesser lights on the right: This is the screed. Success is a matter of discipline. If you have discipline you will be successful. If you do not have discipline you will not only fail to be successful but you will also be an ethically challenged person. The reason for this is that the person in question rejected the system which provided him (or her - particularly her) the ultimate moral authority - a father (and barring that a father figure). I doubt that Paul would go off on some rant about Natalie Portman a la Huckabee but the philosophy driving them is the same for both of them. Anyway, these people (the poor) don't have discipline, and without discipline they can't be moral. These are people then who have earned their poverty. Ron Paul is similar to the other Republicans in that he is all about personal responsibility and not so much about social responsibility. I think this article is worth a look: http://readersupportednews.org/off-site-opinion-section/72-72/5030-what-conservatives-really-want
it was a joke, responding to 'some U.S. senator or or something' [rolls eyes] better president, i suppose, if you hate the public domain, hate workers, hate the poor, anon . . . forward into the past!
Well if he thinks that, he's wrong. I'm not sure he does think that, but it's faulty reasoning. Limiting social responsibility can be justified by other reasons that notions of success and discipline.
MSNBC, March 2, on the Cenk Uygur show, sometime before 6:14pm so within the first 10 minutes if broadcast, and I know this because I made a joke about it on facebook while it was happening.
