I know most of the freaks from the Carolinas love to rave about Asheville and I love the place just as much as anyone else, but unfortunatly it is expensive and overly populated thanks to tourists and old retiries. I'm curious if I would be able to find the same hip community within the outskirts of Asheville and in western North Carolina or does the community tend to stick to that city.
I live in Swannanoa bout 15 min from asheville its great. if you drive 10-15 minutes outside of asheville it gets rural quick.. we like it, wont live any closer too expensive like you said.
I hear Black Mountain is pretty cool, I've never been there myself but I've been meaning to take a visit. I like Brevard a lot, its a pretty sleepy town so if you want more of a night life you probably won't find it there, but its at the foot of Pisgah National Forest so there are a lot of outdoor activities to do there.
I'm new to this area still and am hungry to find interesting people... Please find me... oh... And this place is beautiful!!! But not so great for opportunities.... Peace
