The Glory of God in Nature Sirach 42:15 Now I will remind you of the works of the Lord and describe the things I have seen. The words of the Lord brought his works into being, and the whole creation obeys his commands. Sirach 42:16 The light of the sun shines down on everything, and everything is filled with the Lord's glory. Sirach 42:17 Not even to his holy angels has the Lord given power to describe all his mighty deeds, even though he has given them power to stand unharmed in his glorious presence. Sirach 42:18 He sees into the oceans and into the human heart, and he knows the secrets of both. The Most High knows everything that can be known and understands the signs of the ages. Sirach 42:19 He knows all that has ever been and all that ever will be; he uncovers the deepest of mysteries. Sirach 42:20 He takes notice of our every thought and hears our every word. Sirach 42:21 The orderly world shows the greatness of his wisdom; he is the same forever and ever. Nothing can be added to him, and nothing taken away; he needs no one to give him advice. Sirach 42:22 All his works are beautiful, down to the smallest and faintest spark of light. Sirach 42:23 All these things go on forever, and all of them have their purpose. Sirach 42:24 All things are in pairs, each the opposite of the other, but nothing the Lord made is incomplete. Sirach 42:25 Everything completes the goodness of something else. Could anyone ever see enough of this splendor? Sirach 43:1 How beautiful is the bright, clear sky above us! What a glorious sight it is! Sirach 43:2 The sun, when it appears, proclaims as it rises how marvelous a thing it is, made by the Most High. Sirach 43:3 At noon it dries up the land; no one can stand its blazing heat. Sirach 43:4 The setting sun sets fire to the hilltops, like a metal furnace glowing from the heat, it sends out fiery rays, blinding the eyes with its brightness. Sirach 43:5 The Lord, who made it, is great; it speeds on its way at his command. Sirach 43:6 There is also the moon, marking the passage of time, an eternal sign of the changing seasons. Sirach 43:7 The moon determines the holy days. Its light grows full and then grows dim. Sirach 43:8 The "month" is named after the moon, marvelous to watch as it grows fuller each night, a signal light for the heavenly armies, shining out in the dome of the sky. Sirach 43:9 The shining stars make the night sky lovely, brilliant ornaments in the Lord's high heavens. Sirach 43:10 They stay in the places assigned to them by the Holy One and never relax their dutiful watch. Sirach 43:11 Look at the rainbow and praise its Creator! How magnificent, how radiant, its beauty! Sirach 43:12 Like a bow bent by the hands of the Most High, it spans the horizon in a circle of glory. Sirach 43:13 He commands, and snow begins to fall; lightning strikes to carry out his judgments. Sirach 43:14 The storerooms of the sky are thrown open, and the clouds roll out like flying birds. Sirach 43:15 With his power he forms great masses of clouds and shatters the ice into hailstones. Sirach 43:16-17 He speaks, and thunder twists the earth in pain; the mountains are shaken by his strength. Whenever he wishes, the south wind blows, whirlwinds come, and windstorms from the north. He sends the snow fluttering down like birds, like locusts lighting on the ground. Sirach 43:18 We marvel at its beautiful whiteness, and in fascination we watch it fall. Sirach 43:19 He sprinkles frost over the ground like salt, and it freezes into thorny flowers of ice. Sirach 43:20 He sends the cold north wind blowing and the water hardens into ice; every lake and pond freezes over, putting on a coat of icy armor. Sirach 43:21 He scorches the wilderness hills with drought, and the grass turns brown from its heat; Sirach 43:22 but a cloudy mist restores it all to life as the weather cools and dew appears. Sirach 43:23 By his wisdom he calmed the great oceans and placed the islands there. Sirach 43:24 Sailors tell about the dangers of the sea, and we listen to their tales in amazement. Sirach 43:25 In the sea are strange and marvelous creatures: huge monsters and all kinds of living things. Sirach 43:26 Each of the Lord's messengers succeeds at its task. Everything is held together by his word. Sirach 43:27 We could say much more and never finish, but it all means this: the Lord is everything. Sirach 43:28 How can we find the power to praise him? He is greater than all his creation. Sirach 43:29 The Lord is awesome in his greatness; his power is overwhelming. Sirach 43:30 Though you do your best to praise him, he is greater than you can ever express. Though you honor him tirelessly and with all your strength, you still cannot praise him enough. Sirach 43:31 No one has seen him, no one can describe him; no one can praise him as he deserves. Sirach 43:32 Mysteries greater than these are still unknown; we know only a fraction of his works. Sirach 43:33 The Lord made the universe and then gave wisdom to devout people. Everything is God I feel we should cherish the trees, plants, animals, and all nature as God....
We should cherish the glory of God, and recognize that in nature. And be mindful that God would not have us abuse this earth, nature and its natural inhabitants. But all that scripture quoting...is that necessary?
Like a Druid? I'm just curious. I believe in God; but I believe he also created (mother) earth, for us to love and cherish and not abuse.
Oh no. Not like a druid. Just enjoy nature for being nature. For example. It was raining here today but this was the first rain we have had since the winter. This little bit of rain showed that it was getting warmer. The winter is almost over. That is something to be thankful for. No religious connections. Just nature.
You're not good willed; you're not good willed! But from jail gaoling to chocolate eating Life can find a way.
I think maybe intent leads to perception, seeing to believe and believing to see. We are in the world seeking. Knowledge is being shared.
I am glad you didn't take my initial ideas about the cogito too seriously for the Knowedge we've all memorized, called to BE ontology. Why, because it suits my eternal respects and gratitude to...
It's ALL GOD'S will. A taste of bliss with a gallon of agony is the ratio he prefers. Enjoy your chocolate for you shall suffer unspeakable agony, we all will. But it's ok because your sanity can't believe me, you will lie to yourself and go to bed happy... for now.
You're so pessimistic. How do you know we all will suffer unspeakable agony? It seems random to me. Read Ecclesiastes and Job (particularly interesting if you think God wrote it all).
We had a History for God, each one of us can deny for doubting our neighbor as well; this is the neighbor who has every reason to succeed with me , but fails, every reason to fail with me but succeeds. These natural customs are here and there by the regional content of our backgrounds, the language, and the customs of our lands of origin. We work with those ideas, and just plug God for the Image in the values of succeeding in the realism of failing. And imagination will fail in reality proving that that Image at least never existed. That forces you too, no?
^ You don't make any sense. You haven't said anything insightful, substantial or valuable at all. Everything you said is useless poetic jargon, and for the barely legible statements you did make, you provided no supporting evidence or examples. I can't stand pseudo-gurus. If you want to share your ideas about 'knowledge', please be concise. You're wasting your time otherwise.
Why would I bother when I could be learning partial differential calculus?, or organic molecular engineering? ... or anything else that has worth No, it's the other way around. Nobody deserves respect for blathering on in some incomphensible Glossolalia that does absolutely nothing to advance humanity or solve any of it's problems. And it's insulting that you suggest I devote my time decrypting this nonsense, when it could just as easily be written in plain english. Of course, the fact remains : there is no knowledge, wisdom or enlightenment to be shared here.
Just how do you describe the flavor of a strawberry in plain English? You don't recognize the quality of the statements because you don't understand them. That seems plain enough. .
easy. strawberry. It's fruity, sensual, sweet, slighlty bitter. Easy to describe with english. Of course I don't understand them! they don't use correct syntax. EXAMPLE ok....what knowledge that 'we have all memorized'? An outrageous assumption. And why is knowledge capitalized. umm...is the 'to BE' part really necessary? and as for 'why' this particular phrase is 'called' ontology is unexplained. Ontology is something else. This makes no sense. I assume that 'to' is supposed to be 'too'. there's a big difference. Perception leads to knowledge/intelligence. You didn't need to use latin here. And still.. Even though this discourse is completely erroneous and worthless, you persist in adopting this 'you are not worthy because you don't understand' attitude, And it's all because you're the one who must contort the language so as to appear 'spiritually enlightened' or 'wise'. ooooooh latin. I'm so impressed! *rolls eyes*
