If you do ever want a dog. Then I recommend a female golden retriever. good family dogs. and a female does not hump people. or a female lab.
i wanted a small or medium sized female dog.. but i'm just not even feeling it at all now. maybe it's the responsibility part of it.. i'm not good with them kinda things.
I have a couple of cats. 1 can get really annoying though because it meows to much and always run in front of you when you are walking. small dogs are annoying! I only like big dogs. i like golden retrievers because they are mellow. they just lay down on the ground and chill. and will come to you if you call them and let you pet them. and they also love to play with tennis balls and play fetch and all that. plus I think they are the best looking dogs. but yeah I like them because they are chill animals and not annoying yet can still get up and play when you get a tennis ball.
i like all kinds of dogs.. did my research too. no huskies.. they shed way too much... also with where i live we can't have certain types of dogs.. or dogs over 18" at the shoulder. big dog = big shits... i don't know.. just feel.. over it for now. maybe i'll change my mind later..
A dog is a lot of responsibility. I had a beautiful pit bull that I was in love with. I got her when I lived in a house with a fenced in yard and she was 8 weeks old. Since then I moved to an apartment in Miami and I had to get rid of her last month I've been so depressed ever since, but I had to do it. First of all it wasn't fair to her to be cooped up in an apartment all day and only get to go out to the park once a day...it wasn't enough for her she was super hyper and barked at every single sound she heard in the hallway of our place. I drove me crazy!! On top of that I have anxiety super bad. I gave her to a family who has a big fenced in back yard and they own another female pit, the two get along really well to. But I'm still super sad
Only problem I have with owning a dog is that it is so difficult to find a place to rent that will them. I probably will have to leave my dog with my family when I move out.
While I agree that goldens rock, female dogs will absolutely hump people/other animals. It is a dominance thing, males are more prone to it, but it is not rare at all for a female to do it. Both of my female goldies do it, and I've met at least two dozen others that do the same.
Yes I also ran into that problem. We are thinking of moving soon and no one will let you have dogs here.
One day I am going to get a cat and the beagle is just going to have to deal with it! I've wanted one for years!
