Hey, I've had a couple of bad trips so far. The first one was on 2 hits of very strong acid (confirmed by advanced user same batch) and it was my second LSD trip. Another bad trip was from a mix of X and Cannabis and I felt very paranoid, excluded, and used. Now sometimes I will just be sitting and the brightness of the room will change while sober and I think I'm having a bad trip (because, the same thing happened on LSD). I also believe psychedelics are very useful and I want to explore more. So how do I overcome this fear of having a bad trip ?

Give your mind some time to figure out what it is that is making you have a "bad trip". Something in your head is still not agreeing with whatever it is you saw during those experiences, and to truly overstep the fear you're just going to have to give yourself the time to figure out what it is that created the experiences you have.

Next time, instead of getting simply scared and hitting flight mode directly, try asking yourself why you are scared. Try going to the base of the problem.

There are no quick fix solutions here.

You do seem young but seems like you have self control next time try to take it with friends they can help you. Also do it in a nice enviroment nature i suggest.

Using lsd is a gradual journey of progression almost like climbing a mountain establish your own "base camp" then you will enjoy your
coming conquests and you will harmonize your train of thought.

    Enjoy it :)

I know exactly how you feel.
I have been waiting to come to terms with my mind for about 7 months now..

Set & setting is everything when it comes to psychedelics.

Next time make sure to take your precautions.

For instance I love to trip alone. I usually prepare the day before and make sure to clear my schedule, so that I don't have any sudden calls from work, friends coming by ect.

Don't mix all kinds of substances. Only do this if you feel that you can handle it. Cannabis can really give you some serious mindfuck if you're already trippin hard. Use benzo's instead.

Another thing is that it's always good to have something to drink and eat at your place, so you don't have to get out. I really love to eat fresh fruit when i'm trippin'. :)

I have experienced that all these small things really add up (most of times in a really positive way) to the overall journey.

Happy trippin' and stay safe. :)

As for bad trips, try the mindfulness technique used in DBT therapy. That is, acknowledge fully the emotion(s) but do not judge them as good, bad, dangerous, etc. Then, let them pass in time. You have to really concentrate though, and if you find your mind wandering, bring it back. I use this skill with my medical paranoia and delusions (schizoaffective ).

    dude.....

theres no such thing as a 'bad trip'. YOU! are the one who labeled those trips as 'bad'

what you mean is that those tripps were .. "difficult".

my best advice is to take psykes when you're in a good mood, you have a good setting.. and after you dose..just forget you took it and 'accept' the affect the drug has on you..
