Here are a few selections that satisfied me enough to post into a collection. Feel free to comment, love, hate, or pontificate. I. Public All smiles good times and sunny vibes - Obligation compels me to contribute a sunbeam to the monotonous oblivion affectionately coined "the general public." Rare spectrum ripping through electric azure, I shimmer and glimmer slowly so all can catch a glimpse - Some stare with curiosity, others talk amongst themselves... As for me, I'll just hover overhead like a rainbow - the clouds my feathery down pillow and the sky a blank canvas for my dreams II. I wanna lay In a hazy field of daisies blowing in the breeze Right beside you, doing anything we please. I wanna sleep See watercolored dreams where mirrored oceans seep Into the sand, your hand in mine. I wanna fly Through shimmering stardust gliding in the skies, forever Our cosmic bodies tangled together. I wanna dance Like silvery moonbeams in the night, we'll take a chance Of being swallowed by the light so beautifully bright. I wanna kiss Like angels greeting sunbeams in the morning mist Our fluttering wings feeling the love it brings. I wanna meet Cause these beautiful dreams could never be complete Without your touch or the gentle feel of your heartbeat. III. Bittersweet Reflection Priceless work of art Caged behind smooth glass I want to touch you; Such sweet emotion could be provoked By the feel of your hand in mine Lord knows It is so sweet to imagine Us together, chasing the moonlight peeking through the trees And gliding through seas of floating stars. Little music box, The intricate melody you play Haunts my heart, again and again With the thoughts of the gaze I never met The touch I never felt, and The lips I never kissed... The feelings I have for you are like the sand - Sparkling, Slipping from a child's fingers. I can never have you, I can only Watch the castles slowly melt Into the sea. IV. Sensations I can hear Rainbow anthems singing colors into the breeze; You sang to me their sweet melody. I can sip Pink-lemonade sunsets slowly dipping rays into the night; You held the cup of frothy light. I can feel Shy violets softly breathing gentle perfume on my cheek; You awoke me from my quixotic sleep. I can see Kaleidoscopic butterflies flying high into the azure blue; My eyes were opened to the beauty of you. V. Lady of the Lake Night settles, an intoxicating indigo hue As a knight, armored in silver reflections of Merlin's full moon, Cups his hand into the forbidden waters for a sip of cool liquid to quench his thirst – He is tired and worn, a dragon was slain by his sword just hours before. The strange shellac harmonies sung by the Lady of the Lake Ripple the smooth waters – the inevitable beat of the frothy tide beckons the knight to lean forward. He hears the siren’s desperate plea, And forgets everything. The knight attempts to retreat Eyes wide with fear and heart pulsing as the water moans, And our Lady rises Swathed in shades of cerulean and cinnamon wildfire. She wraps her arms around the desperate soul, Claiming her lover, drowning him in her depths. His cries are unheard, only Absorbed by the dense green foliage of Sherwood Forrest. VI. Mother Her eyes shine with the infinite wisdom of the grey tide and her dress is a crimson cloak; the faeries play hide and seek in the velvet folds. Her fingernails are half moons darkened with bits of earth from tending to her garden of morning glories and forgotten dreams. Her hair is the mist before the dawn braided and curled like the weeping branches of the willow tree. Mother nature Take me home to your elysian fields of golden wheat so I may forever rest among the tangled prelude of petals, An intricately timed explosion of rainbow. The clock dangles on a chain like a shooting star from her pocket. VII. Erotica you, my love, are like an eternal flame breathing life into my spirit, and bewitching my being. with the feel of your lips brushing satin kisses on my thighs. i am your canvas, the clay shaped by your loving touch. you play me like the most elegant grand piano, luxuriously melting melodies from ivory keys with expertise. i surrender with ease to the desire you inspire and immerse you into my lake of wild desire, and still, i am not satisfied. our love - a complicated recipe of obsessions, ardent demonstrations, star-crossed incantations following fits of envy, and nights of unbridled passion accompanied by child-like laughter. our bodies are a perfect fit, in afterglow we bask, unclothed and unashamed two tigers panting in the shade. VIII. winter's glistening icicles sugar plum faeries and snow white landscapes melt into the heart of spring her rainbows and wildflowers dotting the horizon of a blooming sunrise to be replaced by a full moon which fades gradually within a month's time to a tiny sliver of silver in the sky. summer's rain provokes the unfathomed beauty of the forest, full of hickory and wild oak which eventually lose their color and grandeur and lie in waiting for spring's warm sunshine to grace their presence and kindle the explosion of life sleeping in their branches. my love for you is endless, never latent, never lacking in color never melting, never fading always ready. IX. Sweet Dream Revolving stained glass sanctuaries Color your face with light. Your eyes shine like crystal shards, reflecting -- Glimmering from a summer sun surrounded by clouds... Fallen angel Surround me in the feathery down that makes your wings warm so and soft. Break the monotony Like a pebble skipping across a blue lake Shattering mirrors, rippling the waters With your candy coated dreams... Oh, sweetheart, You swirl your lollipops like a circus, your Sugary warmth envelops me I love the feel of the sun, Your touch, Your lips, And my pillow Where I can only dream of these warm paradises to come. X. The stars fading into a dawn of rose The sun scattering his beams of light The rainbows painting the heavens above The clouds spinning pictures in the sky The breeze floating gently through the trees The dusk slowly blanketing the earth The night blooming with twinkling eyes The dreams falling from the moonlight - None of these are as beautiful as you. XI. Round, voluptuous, and ripe Color ranging from Deep crimson to pastel pink Taut, firm, flesh, Begging to be sliced, Only to reveal Row upon row Of soft rubies To be plucked individually - Lips pucker in delight, A natural response As they burst, One by one - The tart, sweet release Beckons color to Unsuspecting cheeks And stains fingers A hot magenta pink- The sin that sealed Persephone's fate The forbidden fruit The Pomegranate.
Well, I love folklore and fairies and lake sirens and all of those things that inhabit the unseen world. When they appear in a poem I pay attention. You're a very sensual writer and many of the images are wonderfully tactile and others are alluringly visual. I think Mother is one of the best here because it also shows you as a writer in control of her lines, her material, her mood and, certainly, her reader. Yup, write on!
nice work, clap clap clap, you taught me a new word . azure, i'll haved to fit it into a future tune of mine, thanx!
Like a rare and exotic seashell Tossing to and 'fro in the sea Neptune stole my love from a faraway land And brought him sailing home to me. His touch is like the sunshine Slowly streaming down on my skin He loves me naughty, makes me weak in the knees My body aches to see him again. He wraps his arms around me Like a tide reaching across the sand I know that I have nothing to fear When we're walking hand in hand. Miles of cruel, blue ocean Tried to keep us apart But it was written in the stars, long ago He holds the key to my heart.
*applauds* Absolutely gorgeous. I'm a sucker for such well written love poems/songs especially ones that have overcame obstacles of distance, time, space, whatever! Lovely, romantic references to the sea here. I enjoyed muchly.
You are so Talented!!!!....Great Poetry!!!!...I liked all of them, but my favorites were "Lady of the Lake" & "Erotica"
what beautiful writings! i love the erotic poem as well! your husband must feel like he is the luckiest man on this planet. hes got a wife that is not only beautiful on the outside, but just as much on the inside.
Affair Forbidden love Hidden treasure - Stolen kisses And desperate measures. Mysterious phone-calls And 'late night clients' Racy photos - Such sweet defiance. We both know better - We could get caught, But I can't let This whirlwind stop. My heart is pounding, My mind is racing With thoughts of you Unbuttoning and unlacing. Rolling like tigers On hot, silky sand My body trembles Intoxicated by your hands. A tropical heat stirs between my legs - This lush hurricane Has gone to my head. No willpower left, I've lost control - I surrender my dreams, My heart, and soul. ***Just realized I hadn't added this one to my thread. Peace.
Loved em sweety. Thanks, I think I needed to read that hopeful, positive stuff. I know I'll have to come back and read it better later but I wanted you to know I enoyed.
Lust My hot cheeks flush when warm winds gust My blood will rush, I know it must. Light fingers brush against her bust. Might I, to you, my flesh entrust? Ever tighter growing clothing I need to soon adjust. Heightening arousal turning into lust. Our clothes askew, her makeup smeared, her hair all mussed. This is what I need before I turn back into dust. BG13 4:44 PM 09 11 04
"Our clothes askew, her makeup smeared, her hair all mussed. This is what I need before I turn back into dust." ohhhhh i loved that. gave me chills. thank you for sharing, blackguard!
on the balcony naked, defiant, enjoying Davinci-brand Tuscan chianti, wind blowing, chimes singing in the breeze and the sunset in your eyes. before you can even finish your plate of tortellini and tilapia, i have spread a blanket of stars and moons on the floor, and drunkenly dragged a pillow from the couch to our little island. it is friday all week you have labored extensively so i can wear these hot Steve Madden stiletto heels dangling from my ankles. you swallow the rest quickly, asking me, "can i at least finish my dinner before we fuck?" your eyes twinkling as you wash it all down with the red, red wine and grab my hair, blonde, abbreviated, into your hands. i take you into my mouth tasting nothing but red wine and feeling nothing but pleasure as i scale your mountains and dive into your seas, brown as cinnamon and sweet as sugar. drunk and uninhibited i moan as you smack my ass repeatedly while i wrap my lips around you and bring you closer, closer still to the peak of ecstacy. you are mine and i am yours the crazy bitch with the wild blue eyes and flaxen hair who wants nothing more and nothing less than Tuscan wine and good times - outside! ***sorry about the double-post - i meant to include this on my thread. peace.
HippieVixen, you are amazing. There are so many subtle dimensions to your poetry ...the symbolism & allusions can keep me busy for days. My favorites are the ones that have a tragic sting at the end: Bittersweet Reflection, Lady of the Lake, Mother, and the best, "XI" ...Persephone knew exactly what she was getting into, didn't she? That slut. (Up until the last line, I thought it was about something else... but I've got a sick mind.) Your imagery is so appropriate in every use; not a single color is wasted. And the erotic themes are positively SAVAGE! Thanks so much for sharing. Keep it coming!!
