It is an extremely dark day for New Zealand today. Early this afternoon another earthquake hit Christchurch- this time round, I'm very sad to say we have lost a lot of people. The count is at 65 confirmed dead- but many, many more are to be confirmed as there are whole office buildings flattened and many more buildings still on fire.
This quake was on a completely different fault line to the quake that hit last september- this one much shallower and we have called a state of emergency now.
We all have friends and family down there- its fair to say this will be the biggest natural disaster to hit New Zealand in our history- and unfortunately for us- we live on fault lines. What we do to our world- what we do in this world, its something to think about- we have lost a lot of people today- and as the tole rises- I can say on behalf of our nation- were are all broken hearted.

    Christina.

Damn, I hadn't heard anything about that. Do you know anyone who got hurt/killed? I'm glad you and Scar are okay, at least.

we cant get a hold of anyone down there- there is only internet and texts available- the whole country is off telephones by request so that the lines are free for those in christchurch- most money machines are down over auckland- the power went off here a couple of times today- auckland is made up of over 100 volcanos- if the quakes were to start up here- the island rangitoto (volcano) would be the first to errupt- wiping out our city for sure- crazy times man.

Well I hope nobody you know got hurt, and hopefully not as many people are dead as they're expecting. I'm thankful none of these big quakes hit Auckland. Christchurch can't catch a break though:(

Terrible. It was a very shallow earthquake with an epicenter right underneath the city. My heart goes out to the people down there.

thank you to all- your support does not go unrecognised- now 75 are confirmed dead- and 300 are listed as missing- they have abandoned the 50 people crushed in a flattened 5 story building as it is too dangerous to go in-
today a group of us who cant give blood busked on the main road of auckland city- and raised a couple of hundred- tomorrow again-
keep sending the good energy- we need it more than ever
    love muchly
    christina
