Ok, these 2 women sinned and fell short of the glory of the law, and also that of common sense, which demands that something happen because of letting a stranger into their house where their children also were...and doing anything - much less risking their very freedom for not even $50 of product!!!

That's stupid...I'm not so sure about how bad and criminal it is.

Yet another example (imo) of how the law does NOT give a just sentence when noting the crime. FGS 10 years, and she'll have to serve 85%. What about some parenting classes and probation, etc. Oh, wait...that way, the people of that state wouldn't have to pay to keep anybody in prison.

Pot is the lamest "Drug" ever anyway! If you're gonna do drugs, do ones that have not become illegal yet in your area. Such as certain shrooms, salvia, etc...

it was poor judgement to allow a stranger into their home, and to sell stuff while in the grandson's presence, HOWEVER, i feel that this is one more way that government butts in on parenting. there are many paths to dropping an 18 year old into the world, it takes 18 years to get there after all. my parents had drugs on them occasionally, even sold them, but to people they knew. had a gun too, (OMG!) but they told us not to touch it, and that if you ever point a gun at someone (or something) you have to be ready and planning on killing them with it. shooting to maim is cruel, if you are going to shoot someone, you are trying to eliminate them. we were taught respect. we were not raised in plastic bubbles, and we all turned out ok.

the government thinks homeschoolers are bad parents, that having a gun makes you a bad, or at least a questionable parent. nervous about new vaccinations? have different opinions about the government? teaching your kids about reality gets you nothing but dirty looks. my kid is happy, healthy, and smart as a whip, but im a screwed up person because my 4 year old asks if they kill rabbits at the grocery store (we are getting him ready for our future plans, which includes having livestock)

it takes a village, but its not the villages responsibility. its up to parents to raise viable offspring. it is in my interests as a parent to keep my kid safe until he is able to pass on our genetics. some parents do not take that interest, and stupid parents are one of our only natural predators. that and cancer. cant fix stupid, and for the most part cant fix cancer.
George Carlin said it, its child worship, and its not healthy. how many babies died in the drop side cribs? 30-something over years and years? 2-4 generations of kids raised in drop sides, but lets ban the crib design, because multiple generations of success vs stupid parents/ caretakers... it must be the crib. lets make it easier for stupid people to raise up stupid replacements to inherit the earth. its not your job to raise my kid, its not the government's job, its mine, and if i cant bring my children to successful adulthood, then thats my failing, and my genes dont go on into the future. sometimes there is loss, sure. my 4 year old had a twin who died in his sleep. is it sad, yeah, to me. can i still make more babies, yeah, as far as i know. its life. it began about a billion years ago, and it just keeps rolling along.

    grumble grumble.
