MOSCOW - About 30,000 people are killed by criminals in Russia every year, another 20,000 die in hospitals as a result of injuries received in criminal attacks, State Duma Security Committee member Gennady Gudkov declared at an international conference devoted to security in Russia.

Moreover, according to him, law enforcement agencies find about 40,000 unidentified bodies annually.

Some 45,000 to 48,000 people disappear in the country every year and 19,000 people die in fires.

"We annually lose more people than the USSR lost in 10 years of combat in Afghanistan, and if we add the number of people who die in traffic accidents, there will be a large number of victims," he declared.




Like a friend of mine said: This dosen't count for the another additional 25,000 people killed every year by car accidents. You could also argue that more people are dying in Russia right now than the war torn country of Iraqi!

what does this have to do with communism? or capitalism.....sounds more like organized crime, which can exist in either climate.

 

Poverty and economic problems causes crime.


What does this have to do with capitalism? Russia is capitalist. Look at how many people that are killed in capialist Russia.

 

But is that number higher than it was during the soviet era? Russia has been poor since before my relatives left over 100 years ago.

 

Look how many people die in communist countries from hunger and starvation or opression from the government.

Perhaps that is more than was lost annualy in Afghanistan, but during Afghanistan, how many people died or dissapeared annualy in Russia?

So when something bad happens in Cuba it's socialism or "communism's fault", but when something bad happens in a capitalist state it has NOTHING, NOTHING, NOTHING!!! to do with the fact that the country is capitalist. Gee.

 

Have you actually ever ever been to Cuba? If you have, then wtf are you talking about? Cuba is considerably more capitalist than I think you have grasped. It might be one of the last bastions of socialism or communism in your eyes but in reality its hankering after change.

Yes I have been to Cuba, Russia and China. How about your communist ideals in China? Would you like to talk about the way communism or socialism functions in the Pearl River Delta region or Shanghai?

It might help your cause if you were able to talk with some authority on a particular country instead of a continuous tirade of communist idealic drivel that most countries and idealists dumped long ago.

If you are going to answer a question with a question then there really is no point in having a debate about the subject. Why don't you instill upon us the virtues of this Utopian Communist state that would replace Capitalism, bearing in mind and in your own words, there are no communist countries left. Ever wondered why that is?

Some of the examples of capitalism gone wrong that you quote are countries only recently converted from communism. Do you really think that a significant change will happen overnight? Are you really that niaive? You are happy to quote 10,000 deaths in Russia under capitalism and yet you make no mention or reference to the millions that died under Stalin and Mao in China. Of course that doesn't help your cause does it. It is what you omit that is important. Hitler, whilst not communist, was very good at that.

China has been capitalist since Mao died. It's always a good thing to keep updated.

I've seen societies change overnight when socialism has been established.

This debate has nothing to do with either Stalin or Mao. I am not denying they are responsible for several things (including executions and deaths). But at the same time I am willing to refute every filthy capitalist lie that has been created by the US government.

You're lucky to be the minority. Most people in the world are in great poverty, and they are living in capitalist nations. Half the worlds population live on under two dollars a day.

 

Here in Bosnia and Herzegovina, they bought everything.First they wanted us to kill eachother, then they came back and did it.Just like before Austria took back all they had..That s very sad man.They give some money to " you can buy me people " to make shitty non violent seminars and pretend we are improving our relationships.I m one very sad individual..Everybody sells, I have learned, even lefts or i call myself anarchists..
