Alrite so i've read that satan means adversary or opponent in hebrew, so it is not a particular being. devil is just a word for a bad or mischevious spirit and lucifer is a angel that wanted to be above god. beelzebub is a whole different demon. then how come everyone just assumes they're all the same thing?
mostly ignorance and momentum in my opinion, why people assume... but then i see lucifer just wanted equal rights for angels, what can be wrong with that, i see this as one of the greater less obvious tests of christianity, who true message seems to be a deep love and compassion for all creation regardless of first appearance
I read a book in college called The Devil's Dominion by Anthony Masters that goes though the history of the creation of the Satan and his many different forms that have been used throughout the ages. It was a very interesting read and if you ever get the chance to pick it up I would suggest it. This book might answer a lot of the questions you have about the many faces of the devil.
Christianity changes it's face so often to gain momentum I don;'t even consider it a religion. it's just a big ass control mechinism. Also, the vatican holds around 1/3 of the WORLDS wealth. And I'm pretty sure every pope has been an evil man.
