Can someone identify this berry?

    I found bushes of these in my town and they were delicious. My bf says they remind him of lychees but they are orange on the inside instead of white and have tiny seeds instead of a big pit.

    nah no problems either, I'm fine :) They were tasty

    they look tasty

    I love lychees and thought thats what they were when I seen the pic before reading

    ooh, apparently these get even more ripe than what they look like in my pic, interesting!

    i live in davis. odd that i haven't seen any of these trees! :sunny:

    Madrone berries, I believe too.
    But I have never tasted one. How do they taste?

    Pretty good, like a candy with a sort of creamy texture

    Down here the common name for the plant is "strawberry tree"
