This is very helpful for understanding the true normal size portions for each meal. http://web.archive.org/web/20070428...04/26/what_do_300_calorie_meals_look_like.php
300 calorie meals... to me that is crazy starvation.... but i guess it you are eating a lot of small meals.......
Here's one for specific food items for 200 calories: http://www.wisegeek.com/what-does-200-calories-look-like.htm
Thank you........ I find usually the MORE CALORIES the better the flavour,i dunno........ (Maybe thats not the case 100%)
In my opinion, focusing on calories is the wrong approach. Granted, it did work for me during my initial weight loss. However, since then I have come to realize that what you eat is far more important than how many calories you consume, since not all calories are created equal. 300 calories of starchy carbs or sugar is not the same as 300 calories of vegetables, eggs, coconut oil, or grass-fed beef. They are burned off and utilized far differently. These days I don't focus on calories, but rather the quality of foods that I eat. I probably eat 1,000 calories a day in raw almonds alone. Is it making me fat? No. I probably could not say that if I was drinking 1,000 calories in soda a day. If you are eating the right foods, calories are almost irrelevant.
It depends on your lifestyle, If you are a hardworking person and not on a desk job than i think 300 calories will mean nothing to arm your shape.
300 calorie meal? Yikes. Salad and a dinner roll? A cup and a half of rice? That seems a little ridiculous. I've recently started watching what I eat, and believe it or not you can do this without starving yourself, lol
I have discovered this coming from the opposite end of the spectrum..I used to be underweight and tried unsuccessfully for years to gain weight by pigging out on mostly unhealthy foods. I started eating really healthy a few years ago after I became more aware of how our food industry operates and I actually started to pack on some pounds. I used to eat until I was past the point of being full in hopes that eating extra calories would help me gain weight. Now I eat mostly made from scratch food with really fresh, healthy ingredients and I don't have a problem maintaining my ideal weight even though I don't eat as many calories as I used to.
