The Iraq needs us slogan on that picture says it all really, at least until Iraq is able to stand on its own two feet with its own large well trained security forces. 18 billion dollars of aid has also been sent to Iraq by the USA.

My opinion's that it encourages dickheads like TrollHouse to pursure his pro-war agenda at every available opportunity. Oh, and he's not expressing an opinion on the piece. He's using it as an excuse to troll.

That was kinda my point to start with...... It's a very promising piece of art. I'll be interested to see it when it's finished. I think it needs strong, vibrant colours to make it really striking.
I think it works on a Americentric viewpoint .. I can't make out if the US in the 'slogan' is U.S ???. You might wanna tone the AMERICANESS DOWN A BIT ... Statue of liberty the flag..all looks a bit ott .. Is this the point. I would consider myself 'pro-war' , is this supposed to be a anti-war poster ??? You have lost me ..apart from the CND sign i have no idea what your trying to say ... sorry.
I'm trying to share both sides of the coin in it. You can't tell but on the anti-war side theres lots of writing whihc just looks like lines. I think its hard to be completely balanced when making this piece, because i am representing pro-war in the way i percieve it and what i have read from pro-war websites and such. I think its important to play up US stuff, i think they play heavily in this war and to make less of that is silly. Also, the Statue of Liberty highly important... they say they are fighting for thier liberty and i think thats ironic as well. Don't you? CND, Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament < makes sense to have that there, its what most people are fighting for when they protest isn't it so it should be there right. Same as Liberty for america, and patriatism is why so many people have gone to fight for their countrys so surely, it should be highly patrical colours and symbols. I am purposely incouraging the Americanness, purposly incouraging the Anti-warness, bring things in that are recognisable.. things that people will recognise. This is perhapes more bias than i'd like it to be, but i think ihave writen and drawn a lot of things that have angered me about the way this war is veiwed by those who are strongly pro-war. There are also parts i have read, from people who stand strongly by the more honest reasons for going to war. With anything created the person who creates it is always going to be slightly bias no matter how much they attempt not to be unless they don't have a veiw on it, but when you become so involved its hard not to. Dok- this is an older picture of it and i have actually continued to add more striking colours into it made some colours more viberant. I am looking forward to the finished piece, if only i wasn't so nervous about finishing it! But, seriously. Look at it and think a lot more. There are so many double meanings for things on both sides. Its hard with such a poor copy to really benifit from it! But when its done, i'll find somewhere to host it which can take bigger images and you can all see and appreciate!
Yeah what I get from it is stepping outside of the partisan debate... different ways of representing the same issue with all the propaganda, imagery and selective focus that entails. On one side you have the glorious stated ideals of freedom, liberation and democracy and underneath, concern for the suffering caused by war, the torn flag and the corruption of these ideals.
Well your picture is about pro war and anti war ? You must be talking about the iraq war right ?. I think it is unfair because your not imho giving both sides to this current war.. just well here is another war that i can protest against.. If your for no war at all, fair enough. But i don't think your balancing both sides of the Iraq war to be honest. Your right about playing up the US, but your going overboard .. were are the other nations ?? What is your stereotype of a 'pro war supporter' ? . Its a horrid tag i think because it says (or may say) i like killing and destruction and all the grisly stufff that goes along with it, untrue. At least your picture is not a huge oil well were the oil is gushing out. As the oil falls to the floor, the oil turns into bombs . With the iraqi flag dirty and bloody on the floor and the US flag being waved by GWB , while Mr Blair shoots down the Dove of Peace .

That's perhaps the best idea you've ever had I think Dandi's done well to present both sides fairly. The imagery of the American flag is about patriotism, it seems to me, certainly a great source of pro-war feeling. The statue of Liberty, as well as American symbolism, for me, stands for freedom and democracy, an argument for war that Bush has done to death. I might not agree with these two sentiments as justifications for war, but I understand them, I understand why they exist, and why they have been used. In that, Dandi has done very well in her objectives I feel....
its growing on me i have to admit.. i still don't quite 'get it' ..maybe what i focused on is what my brain focuses on so i have missed bits .. The subtly may i am afraid be lost on me . Its 100 times better than the crap i was doodling this afternoon .
yeah i have a few 'good' ideas every know and again . I am 'pro war' right ... well i don't have any patriotism to the american flag . ... a great source of pro war feeling ??? yeah for americans maybe ..hello person who supports the war that is not american (their are millions of us you know). This is probably why i don't 'get it'..
