When dad is sleeping on the couch in his boxers I cover him so my sister will stop looking when he is showing.

My boyfriend and I have talked about this. With a tiny baby, we want to be able to cosleep and be comfortable with breastfeeding the baby and have a calm and open environment. As the child gets older, that may shift. We were both raised in traditional families, and we won't overthrow that overnight. Small changes in how we deal with our bodies is key here.

Well if a baby is raised in nudity from Day One it will become regular to them..... (Then you just have to explain why everyone else is "shy")

Not entirely true, usually at the age of 12 kids change in the way they look at the world. Kids that are used to going to nudistbeaches/resorts don't want to go anymore once they hit puberty.

There is no need to be mean towards others just because you dont agree......

Ya i guess i can understand that, when i was around 13 or so i was quite nervous/shy of anyone seeing me!

I personally don't think it has to be perceived as a "sick" thing. When I was a kid growing up, I'd regularly see all of my family members naked. Not all at the same time, but separately. I would have baths with my mother, father, or my grandmother, and this continued on until sometime after I hit puberty. Or, maybe during family trips to different places my mother and grandmother might take me to the women's public bath(this was not in USA) if my dad didn't take me to the men's one. I'd gone to both during such times and seen not just my family naked but total strangers of both sexes naked as a kid, too.

One thing I should mention is that my family is not nudist. If anything, I'm the most nudist one of the family, and I'm either a partial one or a closet one, lol. The rest of the family is more conservative than liberal when it comes to nudity. But I was raised not to view nudity as something unnatural, possibly because my parents have been raised with some hangups about it and thus didn't want me to suffer from the same thing. Apparently I'd made some comment on my mom's pubic hair when I was a toddler, and this is one of her favorite stories to this day.

I'm much older now and we have since stopped having baths together, but then that was just how it all worked out. But they naturally are older, too. My grandmother in the end had to have someone take care of her with her bathroom matters and bathing(which of course involves her being naked), due to old age and health problems. My parents did that up until the day she died. I was a bit selfish and didn't do that, but that was probably also because they all didn't want me to. But now that my parents are older, I do sometimes think of the possibility that one of them(or both?) might need that kind of assistance some day. If that ever happens, then I would help them out. At times like that, there really isn't time to be saying "it's gross" or anything like that.

    Here's an idea...

Why don't we all do our own thing and drop the judgmental crap?

OK, it's just wonderful not to be judgemental. And that being said... re family nudity:

I'd rather set myself on FIRE than see my family naked or them see me naked. I found this so preposterous, I even called my son (27 yrs old) and asked him what he thought...(lol) and he said just hearing me ask him about family nudity made him want to consider poking his eyes out...for once, total agreeance. :D

Gives a whole new spin on Thanksgiving dinner . Grandma dripping gravy all over those , all so lovely breasts of yesteryears . Which are now down to her knees .
Uncle Ned , buttering bread with his cock .
Aunt Sally's pubes in the mashed potatoes .
Oh yeah good times, GOOD times . I mean really those dinning room chairs would have to go . Skid marks all over em and shit . No , no, I'm not ready for this
Omg . have you guy's seen some the people in your family , WITH fucking clothes on ? cause ,the whole thing would be a total fucking barf-a-rama .

Y-E-A-H- , I think i'll pass on the whole nudist thing , if anything we need to put more clothes on . There is not enough soap made in the world ,to wash my fucking eyes clean again , after something like that !

Just when you think you're pretty open minded , BAM , something like this comes along and kicks ya in the balls !

At home my kids and I are used to and comfortable with being and seeing each other naked, except for my 18 yr.old son. He doesn't want to see us naked so I tell him when not to look! :)

I think once a person is ready to accept the fact that nudity doesn't equate itself to sex, they'll be more accepting of it.

Not sure I'm cool to participate in that with extended family members though....

I saw enough of my mum's jugs as a kid. I don't want to see them any more. Being naked in front of random strangers though, and seeing random strangers naked (or SOMEONE ELSE'S family naked), that's cool :)
