    Dear all.
i went to the hospital tonight (because my boss told me off for not having gone to a doctor already :p) and we were there from 6:30 pm to 9:45 *sigh* good service.
wel i had a check up and gave a urine sample etc etc yadda yadda. The signs of pregancy were none meaning i am not pregnant. If that means i was before or not i dont know she didnt tell me.. and i dont think they would be able to tell.

But reguarding the pains in my belly they said it looks like i could have a urinary Track Infection and so i am on antibiotics (*sigh* i hate drugs) for 10 days to see if it clears up, if not i go back to my GP.

Thank you all for your wonderful help, if it wasnt for you i wouldnt have gone to hospital at all and the pains would have got worse.

My love to all of you
    Fleassy

Fleassy...well done.....I know it must have been hard for you to go to the hospital but you did it and hopefully the antibiotics will clear up any infection.

I'm not saying that you haven't got a urinary tract infection, but that wouldn't cause heavy vaginal bleeding would it? I understand that you don't like doctors ( I find them a challenge myself) but once you have finished your antibiotics I would be tempted to go to your GP anyway and discuss what has happened. He/she might think it worth referring you to a gynaecologist just to check you out.

Ahh listen to me I'm a worrying old fool! It's good to know you have taken action, I hope you are back to your normal bouncing self soon!

I am so glad you got some medical care!

If you had been pregnant in the past week or so you would still have HCG (a hormone which occurs during pregnancy) in your urine and your blood.

I know it sounds weird, but I have had some terrible menstrual pains and bleeding during UTIs. All those parts are very close to each other, and sometimes pain in one can cause refered pain in an other. More than once I thought I was pregnant and it was a UTI! I have even had bad UTIs cause my period to be late!

If they did HCG test for pregnancy (blood, urine or hopefully both) and they said there were "no signs" you probably were not pregnant, at least long enough for the placenta to develop. (Brighid, please correct me if I am wrong here!)

Please get some rest, take your meds, get those probiotics, (I really like Nature's Way Enteric Coated Acidophilus on the rare occasion I have to take an antibx.) and drink water and cranberry juice (yeah, you can drink the sweetened stuff, it still has the enzymes which prevent bacterial growth and adhesion in your bladder and is more palatable than the (blech) unsweetened stuff, which I find undrinkable.)

    Healing thoughts and love,

    Maggie

I have had two bad miscarriages, I was 6 mos. along with the first and 7 mos. along with the second. In my case I couldn't have even walked anywhere, but yes I cramped very badly and felt like I was going to explode inside. Mine of course, was further along than you might have been. But I personely don't think you were pregnant. Your body was going through a change with your Vegetarian eating habits and your body might have been just cleansing itself, or and ovarian problem, or just a plan bad period month. If you did miscarry, you weren't very far along and your body was just disposing itself of a problem pregnancy.

In any case, you need to see a doctor for further testing. Please have yourself checked, take care of yourself.

Thaks you everyone for your kind words.

Yea Sue i guess you are right, im 18 and have avoided the gynocologist so far. Even though i know with me history and the things that have happened to me i should have gone years ago. ..parhaps now is that time *looks scared* ... i'll get jaycee to hold my hand :p

They didnt do a bloody test, just a urine test. I dont think they really felt i should be there, they made me wait about 4 hours (which i understand because there were far more important patients than me coming in) but i thik they just wanted to say "go home and tell this to your GP. i only went to the hospital because my Boss at work had lookewd incredibly concerned and made me promice to go.. and i never break a promice :S

Honey, did they do an internal exam, through your vagina? Because if you were miscarrying, your uterus would still be swollen from pregnancy, and your cervix might still be opened.

Please follow up with your GP. And if you don't have one, let the doc at the hospital know and follow up with him, if the bleeding continues.

Has the bleeding continued? How are you feeling now?

    Blessings and healings

    Maggie

I am so glad you are feeling better. There may be no way to tell for absolute what happened. I had a miscarrage like this, I was never completely sure it was a miscarraige and I didn't go to the doc, as I had had one before, and this one was not as bad. It kinda is hard to not have closure, but as womyn, this happens to us.

Please take your antibiotics until they are gone. Rest and take your fluids.

Blessings. I am glad the bleeding stopped. Ease into your regular activities, as with a UTI you can have a relapse if you don't get rest. Also, if it was a really early miscarrage, you might start bleeding again if you start too much physical activity soon.

JMO, but you might want to avoid sexual activity, for both the UTI and the possible misccarraige until after your next period. I've had these problems and sex seems to only make them more uncomfortable and diffiicult to recover from. You bf sounds understanding, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Hehehe my boyfriend would understand perfectly. Sex isnt important to him like it is to so many guys. Hes wonderful. I think its my own urges i will have to tame... im definatly going to cut down on sexual activity a bit and once university is over (end of the week) i will be able to chil out a bit, but i have a performance on wednsday so mind is set on that :)

Thank you very much for your help.
