if you are creative, you could make them yourself... would be dirt cheap too... you'd only need to pulp the hemp material, rather like you would with papier mache... hemp, flour and water... make paste and roll into what ever shape you want.... don't forget the thread holes tho :) experiment, or i'll bet you find a reliable recipe on the internet...

You can buy lampwork glass pendants on ebay for 99cents free shipping. Great for hemp making.

Are typically expensive, but good for making unique pieces, but if your looking for affordable/ cute check online.

joann fabrics has a pretty good selection depending on which store you go to

If there's a joann superstore, it's worth the trip even if it's further away than a regular one

don't go to michael's though, expensive as hell and you never leave with what you're looking for

Fimo clay is good to use :) you just make the bead and stick it in the oven for a little while and it sets it :')
I do all my beads that way.

^ They also make glaze to paint on it after it's done cooking. Really gives the beads that "finished" look.

Wow, I never thought about Jo-Ann Fabrics. I will pass that info along to my wonderful jewelry maker.

I really like artbeads.com. They have a good selection, and you get free shipping. Amazon has some cute and inexpensive (but cheaply made) beads. I order from there when I'm making my 7 year old daughter some piece of jewelry she wants. I don't mind the cheap in that case because she loses them in a snap!

There are tons of websites that sell beads for fairly cheap. Anyone every ordered from Beadsandpieces.com ?
