Metal isn't bad compared to the super mainstream shit like Rihanna, i've never heard autotune on a metal song.

 

With the internet,and just about every song imaginable available to listen to online or on Youtube, I don't think MAINSTREAM exists.

Mainstream does exist sadly, there's people who get sucked into all the marketing of all these crap new artists that's why they are in the top 20. Personally i think MTV makes people this sort of shit, i find myself watching the most awful songs just for the image/video even though i hate it when i skip through the radio i listen to what sounds good!

 

So if Justin isn't mainstream what is he? Pop? if pop (popular) isn't mainstream then shoot me for thinking it is and being so dumb (also if Justin isn't pop!)

Mainstream will never be dead cause it's just the popular stuff at the time. If people think a music genre just sucks it's generally because they don't get it.

 

With the exception of emo :afro:

 

maybe youre not listening to the right kind of metal..

 

cos the bluesboys got all the good riffs ... the rock boys got all the good guitars n amps and no one with even a semblance of testicular fortitude can seriously listen to any music made by men who wear masks :mickey:

metal sucks to me because its too fast, too frenetic, too angry....it produces a visceral reaction in me, makes me anxious as all hell. I really despise listening to metal

with that said, I do respect it as a genre. It takes some skill to be a good metal musician.
