That is a really bad move. The Russians aren't very friendly towards terrorists.

"the explosion occurred in the international arrivals hall in a public area "to which people who are not passengers have free access"

The terrorists are getting smarter :p

I've never understood why someone would kill themselves to kill others....

This is something that has been said a few times. If the terrorists can't get on the plane with the bomb, what is to stop them from detonating the bomb at the check in (if they happen to get caught) In some ways it's more dangerous going through the check-in than being on the plane these days.

chechnyans will get the blame (or maybe they did do it) and the russians will use the bombing as justification to the international community to pound the shit out of that poor little country yet again

it's a shame that chechnya doesn't get the same support that georgia does from the US ... stupid gas and oil pipelines...

Not hard to understand at all. Every single one of these suicide terrorists GETS PAID a lot of money. Of course they don't collect it. If they're successful the money goes to their impoverished families who are probably starving.

Now do you know why they do it?

Here's a better question. Why doesn't the media follow up on each of these suicide bombers and find out what circumstances led them to do it.
Answer: Because then the public might actually come to sympathize with the "terrorists" and then suddenly they wouldn't be perceived as "terrorists" anymore, just people under stress who did what they had to do. That would undermine the entire War on Terror if the public no longer sees the terrorists as such, but as human beings pushed to their limits.

There were also a few cases where the suicide bombers were "retarded" and were completely setup by others, but those are rare.

And if you think this is far fetched at all, I got two words for you:
    Jack Ruby.

There could also be coercion where someone is being held captive and to release the individual a relative has to become a suicide bomber. I haven't heard of any specific instances like this, but I can believe there might be a few.

Me and my boyfriend were at this airport one week before the bombing. It's sad and scary, but honestly not surprising. We had to stop there on the way to Singapore and back and they were really rude to us both times. They were just acting like we were retarded for not being Russian. We exchanged our money for their currency and they wouldn't accept it from us. We tried to go into a cafe and the lady straight turned us away and they weren't about to close or anything. I finally found someone to take money from me and give me a refreshing beverage in return, but there was a small confusion over how much I should be giving her and she ended up throwing my change at me and shoving my merchandise at me with a "go away" tone. I mean, I get that the language barrier is frustrating and we didn't plan on being there for more than an hour both times so we didn't exactly brush up on our Russian . . but I was definitely trying to be as nice as possible.
I'm sorry, but if you want to work in an airport, then you're going to have to deal with people that don't speak your language all the time and you should at least be able to fake a smile every now and then!

Just sayin, they have a way of pissing people off.

I spent some time and Russia and they got a serious problem with racism and neo-nazis.

Like all racists in this world, when you talk to these "racists," all of them refuse to say they're not racist but "just proud" or they're "just patriots."

Governments promote patriotism and "pride". Because this is often how they "get control" of their people.
