He was here on the 5th but did not post.. the ones that dont come in a lot get caught up in catching up and dont have time to post. He'll pop in again

 

Okay, so I'm starting to get PMs and questions of concern, regarding Ranger. I kind of figure that I'll receive even more PMs from others in the future as they show up back here in the forum.
Since, I don't want to need to write a bunch of separate letters to everyone or have all of that time, I will try to post the general answers as best as I understand them.

Also, Ranger is only on here to post once or twice a week and he's been sick for a solid week just like I have. Ranger's posts are also short and sweet.

Various questions.

First the fund. As Shameless Heifer stated. The fund is for Ranger's health. A trailer so that the V.A. will consider him for heart stint surgery. (Not crawling around in and out of a van, and ripping out any heart surgery stitches). This seems to be the heart doctor's main concerns. Lying down. Standing up. No crawling around and other weird straining movements.

Otherwise no surgery at all.

The fund is a trust thing. It was collected to buy a trailer so that Ranger would be an acceptable candidate for stint surgery. And only for this purpose.

A trust thing.

Everyone's money can always be mailed back to them. Not to worry.

If Cakes can't afford it, I'll pay for the postage. No problem. That's covered.

Next.

Even if Ranger is still getting on his feet, I'm sure that Rita can look around for a trailer or whatever. Put out some word of mouth to folks they know, look on-line. You know.
I should think that Arizona would be overflowing with old used trailers. Every retiree from the snow-belt drives them to Arizona. Most remain there

Next.

The Heart Surgery stuff.

As I understand it there are three sets of doctors. 1) his Primary Care Doctor. 2) His Eye Surgeon. 3) The Heart People.

A couple of weeks back Ranger was scheduled for cataract surgery for one eye an then one month later for the other eye. They were only waiting for approval from the number 1 guy with and OK from the number 3 guys. That didn't come and all of that was canceled.

I guess you are not a good surgery candidate if you have a bad heart. Ya Think?

As I have it. Everything is off. Back to square one. He's seeing the number 1 guy next week. Then I would guess that the number 1 guy talks to the number 3 people and then that will go back and forth for a while. The you get examined several times by the number 3 people and then if you qualify as a candidate health wise, they start looking at they're calendar to see where in their future they can fit you in. Meanwhile you go on being blind. Cool huh?

So, as you can see. None of this is moving rapidly.

Patience is how we all need to perceive all of this. Relax, let it flow, patience.

Ranger will see his number 1 doc next week and I should think that he will fill us all in every step of the way. With each doctor as he finds things out.

We all, including Ranger will be patient. We shall see when we shall see.

And not to worry.

So, far I've already heard, "Well if there is no trailer available then where is my money going? Don't send my money if there is no trailer happening" And I sure that other may ask me the same or at the very lease start to wonder.

Listen all, there must be other trailers out there in the universe.

I don't want anyone to be concerned here.

Should another trailer become available and Cakes entrusts me to deliver your money, I promise all of you I will go there and that I will personally count it out into the trailer seller's hand after viewing the trailer and the paperwork and title for the vehicle and first seeing it signed over to Ranger.

That is my promise. If Ranger and Cakes are getting me involved in this, then I am promising to you. So, not to worry.

Just to let everyone know. I will hold on to the Funds untill housing in whichever form manifests. I will send the $ to Kenny who will drive it up to where Ranger and Rita are when they have found another place/trailer.

This fund is for housing only and will not leave my hands untill haousing is found. Like Kenny says, there are other trailers out there, low income housing. The thing we must remember is we are doing this to get Ranger his surgeries. So, one lead fell through, we just keep looking untill the right one shows up.. appearently the other trailer was not the one.

If any of you want you money back I will send it back to you. Remember also I asked way before the camper showed up for help to get Ranger inside. We will find another one. We could all help.

That's pretty straightforward. Can't say it any more straight up than that. For sure.

I think that Rita and Ranger totally understand that we are all trying to get a heart stint done for Ranger. His son and I even had some tears over it together, about two years ago. This has been going on for longer than that, even. Faith. We will get there.

I talked with Zev about this the other night. He is adamant about the heart surgery, because he had been through all of that before, himself. God bless him. So, he is all about that, Ranger. DO IT. GET IT OVER WITH.

I am going to Classified and make a plea for a trailer or something adiquit for Ranger's Recovery.

Let us allow Ranger the time to get well and to get on his feet. Like I first said. I'm sure that he and Rita can expend the energy to find a local trailer to buy if a trailer is what they want.

Don't kill yourself over this. Let's be patient and hear from them and see what's up.

If someone had the cash on hand to buy me a free place to live, I would certainly kick ass to find something. Wouldn't WE ALL?

Are Ranger and Rita looking for a pull behind the van camper/trailer? What size/length? If so, what is their purchasing range? Tucson?

 

At this point Rita and I are looking for a small to medium travel trailer sort of thing that will be easier for her to handle. Rita is doing the driving untill I get my eyes fixed. We have a Ford 1ton that will pull anything almost.
We can make Touson if need be. We still need to pick up the ball part of the hitch and I'm looking for one of those with the three size ball option. The van came with a heavy duty reciever already in place.

Folks, I have one more day of antibiotics left and am feeling much better. we are currently looking into low income etc housing as well as trailers. The thing with trailers is that as well as making the surgery possible it would allow us later to visit family around the country.
I see my primary Doc Monday afternoon.
Like I told Mary I'm astonished and very, very gratful for the outpouring of love and energy from the family.

Hi Ranger,
So happy to hear your recovering. Kenny wasnt the only one panicing. I have been having three differnt kind of fits, jumping up and down on Kenny's brain.. poor Kenny.. sorry Kenny. No news isnt always good news. When you have to guess what's going on a try to draw your own conclussions you sometimes get it wrong.

So, now we are in phase three of our quest. Phase 1, asking for dontations. Phase 2, reciving said dontaions. Phase 3, securing a place to live. Phase 4 moving in, phase 5, Living happily everafter.

I know about the femoral artery. My own Mother bled out and died from when they did an angioplasties on her heart. They did not 'sandbag' the incission and she bled out within minutes.

That is what was causing me so much anxiety thinking of you crawling around in the back of a Van, bustin' the stiches and bleeding out, dying there in the parking lot. Not a fitting way for Ranger to go out.

So, Let's find a Camper folks and finish this. Ranger and Rita are almost HOME.

I did a quick scan on Craigslist-Prescott and saw one trailer for sale (posted in January) for $750. Maybe, if it's still for sale, you could make an offer with the cash collected so far. I'll keep looking around.

You Go Danny!! I been lookin' too. Called a few places up in Prescott, one guy told me to look in the *RV Trader* mag, they put them out at grocery stores and convienece stores like the thrifty nickle..

 

Ranger so so glad to hear that the LUNG THANG has finally almost been put to rest!! As we both now know that lung shit makes you IMMOBILE!!! NOW that you can move it LOOKS like if you and Rita can move around a tad slowly maybe you can find that trailer to pull behind the 1 ton! I was ALWAYS a Bus person myself as we had options to resister it as one of maybe 3 or 4 different things as needed! A HOUSE when parked and we could get a reciept for an electric bill or something, as an R.V. if not needing a "HOUSE" or even a work vehicle if needed for BUSINESS!!

AND STUBBIES (Short Busses) were always easy to drive!!

I also was always able to fing a Church or some ole club or team that had a bus for sale cheaply! BUT the problem is you need a place ALREADY FIXED UP with heat and storage for H2o .

Whatever happens I am just in your corner and will vibe what everenergy you want first and most!!

NAILCAKES I think you see why sometimes those "Checks" do not make it. Must make sure to enclose those types properly so no lookly loos can get at them as they are way to "EASY" to cash!! Going into chanting later up at a cool place right now was able to get on!

Kenny I am alive and here. Looks like everyone else I was a little sick but I got better.
Aquarium store antibiotics help. The weather here (Upstate Ny) has been unusually oppressive.

The good news is that we had a good weekend at the market! The vnot so good news is that the aljternater went out on the van! The good news on the van is that we cleared enough this weekend to get a new alternater.
The best news is that trailer we posted pics of is back available.We will be going to look at it tommorow pm.
