Nothing the government does surprise's me anymore. First we find out that we can't legalize drugs because there is too much money involved and now it comes to light that the DEA plans to reschedule THC but not the plant itself.

Yes, now the DEA's real strategy concerning cannabis is abundantly clear. Marijuana is only to be legal to sell by Big Pharma. Completely illegal for anyone else to market.

So a government enforced monopoly for certain companies. And they put 800,000 people in jail every year to enforce it. That is the CRIME!

Down with the DEA. That is my first revolutionary demand....

heh. Would be funny if weed pills got popular so that the consequences of getting caught with weed would be less. That would surely piss the dea off

Dronabinol is Schedule II, I don't know why the article says I. I is no medical use, II is incredibly restricted but some medical use. And I had a dronabinol prescription for a while, it was worthlessly strong, not even fun just completely baked beyond belief.

    Some of her words, yes.
If you are going to quote her, best quote everything she said - in context.
Rather than cropping the bit you like.

SECRETARY CLINTON: I don’t think that will work. I mean, I hear the same debate. I hear it in my country. It is not likely to work. There is just too much money in it, and I don’t think that – you can legalize small amounts for possession, but those who are making so much money selling, they have to be stopped. They can’t be given an even easier road to take, because they will then find it in their interest to addict even more young people. Mexico didn’t have much of a drug problem before the last 10 years, and you want to keep it that way. So you don’t want to give any excuse to the drug traffickers to be able legally to addict young people.

She isn't stating she wants MJ legalised tomorrow, true.
But if I cropped this: Clinton said "You can legalize small amounts for possession".
I'm sure you would have pulled me up on it, right?

Ironic in the fact normally it's the plant that skirts legal loopholes and it's the final drug that's illegal, like in the case of mescaline or DMT, not vice versa.

I actually was going to include that, but I wanted to give you something to retort with. And you are correct in your second statement.

I didn't include it in the original thread because I just copied and posted the first couple of paragraphs and included the link to the story. I think her logic is beyond flawed but that's not for this thread.

Perhaps it is. But the point was the whole quote gives it more nuance, atleast. People can make up their own minds as to what she said/meant...rather than writing your own version of history, imho.
But, yeah, not for this thread, I guess.

Definitely. They're basically saying, "Our drugs are good, but that same one we don't sell is bad." They're basically the same drug, just a different method of ingestion.

Hopefully many people will see the bullshit logic in this. Something has got to give, soon.

I think they're only doing this to quiet things down a bit. Screw it. Legalize cannabis! Legalize the plant! No substitutes!

Cannabis has a lot of medicinal properties that work together with the THC.
