    well!
I’m not quite sure what I’m doing here, I was wondering if you could help me. My name is Megan, and I am 18 years old. I’m finishing my last year of secondary school in Ireland. I’m planning to go to university next year to study art, the thing is, after university I do not know where I want to go or what I want to do. I’ve always had a hippy outlook on life, I hate mainstream society and I really do want to break away from it all. Even going to university annoys me, and I wouldn’t go, only that I love art, it really is my passion. Truly, I want to live with hippies, I think want to become one. I feel horrible in any sort of institution, school, any sort of place where I feel controlled, unable to be my true self because its “unacceptable”.

So I was wondering, are there any hippy groups who would take me in over the summer? Just to live with them or maybe a month? Or even just a few weeks, I just want a taste of what my life could be like. I have very little knowledge of a hippy lifestyle, and I only want to learn.. Living in this current society really gets me down, I have no interest in material gain, I only want to know myself, and know my surroundings..

Please help? where do I start? who do i get in touch with?
or perhaps this is just a stupid ass question?

hi Megan! i am irish also...
i know what you mean about university.. i didn't go.... but if you love art, then university could probably be a great way to meet other people like you who also love art.

some of my very best friends are artists and they live very free and wide-open lives, different lives defined in their own way...
my best friend is a sculptor/artist. he went to university for art, and i think he enjoyed it a lot.
    good luck!!
