Ok I have been taking 1 to 2 Xanax bars (2 mg) a day for about 3 years. I have heard that the withdrawls are really bad but how many days would I have to go before I started feeling the withdrawls and what exactly would they consist of because I could go a day or two without any and not really notice anything, although I do take oxycontin as well so not sure if that changes things.

I take the same amount of Klonopin daily and have been prescribed it for 5 or 6 years. I can't go more than 48 hours without severe WD occuring. Seeing as they are similar drugs, I would expect a similar thing to happen to you. Ask your doctor to taper you down on it if you really want to stop it. Otherwise, just stay on it. That's what I do. I really don't even notice it except I take it before bed so it makes me sleep. Horrible drugs IMO, those benzos.

Ya I was just curious as to what the withdrawls consist of, what will I feel or notice? Im not looking to quit I probably have a couple hundred of them but just wondering if the withdrawls were similar to opiate withdrawls or worst.

The most severe withdrawals I've had from xanax were true hallucinations(hallucinations that I didn't realize were hallucinations) and extreme body tremors, as well as HELLISH anxiety. Keep in mind that this was only after taking xanax for 4 days straight, at 20-30mg per day until I ran out. The day I ran out, someone gave me ~6mg so I could get to sleep, but 6mg wasn't nearly enough to prevent the withdrawals, because my body was used to having so much more than that.
