The hills and forests of southern Illinois are good for me for the immediate future. After my youngest son is out on his own (he's 17 now) I'm gonna head back to Iquitos Peru, right on the Amazon River. It's the gateway to incredible tracts of rainforest. The River is the main means of travel and it's cheap to live there. The people are incredible, warm and open and healthy. Food is great, very low on the food chain and the best fish I've eaten. In an hour you can fly out and be in the Andes and thats a whole different world too. Plus I've got Family there, some wonderfully rotten little wild grandkids to spend time with...what more could I want?
i always dreamed of living somewhere where it is warm all year long. out in the country where i have space to roam. i was raised in the middle of no where with nothing to worry about. me and my sister would always go adventure in the woods and my grandpa and grandma would tend to the garden. i guess thats why thats where my idea comes from. i plan to travel after i graduate and then start training to be a yoga instructor. maybe own my own business. and if i lived out in the country i could just use part of my home to have those sessions. but once i have children im sure it will be difficult. oddly when i think of my dream home and my future i dont see a husband. mainly because i think children and a spouse will get in the way of my plans. but i know once i get where i want to be it will be warm and i will have a garden just like my grandparents.
I have the opportunity to move abroad for a few months, so right now I am confused as to where I actually want to live!
Near the beach, away or close to neighbors. Somewhere in peace, somewhere where I can stop seeing those judgemental eyes, they stare at you and you know they've fallen through a sudden gap - I really hate those eyes. Perhaps my dream is to stay in Neverland, and I'd like to bring everyone along with me. I'll always be a dreamer.
I'm in southern Ontario now and am looking for a place about 100-150 miles northeast from here, towards Ottawa. I'd like several acres and either be on water, or have a pond or stream somewhere on the property.
As per retiring, I've always envisioned me and my partner somwhere on a swamp off an old highway, complete with a gator farm and telling people's fortunes as a side business. =D
I would like to live under a rock so no one can annoy me anymore. DJOmalley what you speak of sounds like the hell hole I just moved from...Polk County, where women go to Wal Mart with no bra, the mullet is a popular haircut and all pickup trucks have balls hanging from the back.
Somewhere in the rural Netherlands or in British Columbia in a beautiful low impact woodland home that my love and I make with our own two hands. Something like this:
