1. Doom 1 and 2 2. Heretic 3. Heretic 2 ( heretic and heretic 2 are very different) 4. Counter Strike Source all the other counter strikes and counter strike deleted scenes single player. 5. Half-life 2 and all the other episodes 6. Unreal Tournament 2004 - I love how fast pace this game is 7. World of Warcraft /burning crusade expansion ( after lich king expansion it was not as fun) 8. Mount and Blade 9. Day of Defeat Source 10. Runescape ( only because when I was a little kid (12) I played this game a lot. now the game is super boring.)
1. Wolfenstein 3d 2. Black and White 3. Half-life (all) 4. Jumpman Lives! 5. Police Quest series (1 - SWAT 2, anyways) 6. Prince of Persia 7. Scorched Earth 8. Mech Warrior (4 was my favorite, but it's a pretty good series) 9. The Incredible Machine (any 90s edition of the series) 10. EPIC Pinball (wish I could get it to work right on modern systems ) honorable mentions: America's Army (original, dunno the newer ones) Detroit
Me too. It's missing a lot of the sound; really hurts the tension of the game. I've never been so scared in my life as playing on I Am Death Incarnate stoned.
have you ever played heretic? best ambient sounds out of all the original first person shooters. it was made by same people as doom and wolfenstein.
I own both. The sound is good, yeah. I'm honestly not the biggest fan. I like Doom more than Heretic, and Wolfenstein far more than either. I've never said this about a video game, but Heretic came off as dry. Blood is a real good lesser-known one from around the time of Heretic. Haven't played it since I was little, so I can't properly gauge how difficult it was =P Actually, haven't played Heretic for a good few years, either; maybe I'll give it another shot.... EDIT: oh shit, I've only played Heretic II
My pc game list sucks compared to my console list 1) Solitaire 2) Duke Nukem 3) Doom II 4) Asteroids 5) The Sims 6) Need for Speed II 7) Age of Empires 8) Street Fighter 9) Oregon Trail 10) Backyard Baseball
1. Age of Empires 2. Starcraft 3. DOOM 4. Medal of Honor: Allied Assault 5. MechWarrior 2: 31st Century Combat 6. Roller Coaster Tycoon 7. Command & Conquer: Red Alert 8. Oregon Trail 9. Sim City 10. Baldur's Gate As you can tell, all of these are pretty old and from when I was younger. Never have been much of a PC gamer.
Please don't laugh. I am not a hardcore gamer by any means I have probably only played 10 PC games so far lol. Here goes. WoW COD:MW COD:MW2 COD:BO Fallout 3 Fallout New Vegas Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Sims 3 American McGee's Alice Maple Story (LOL)
I spent an assload of money on a high end computer then a buncha shit happened and I didn't get to use it as much as I would have liked. Needs a lil more upgrading but not gonna put in the money until things settle down and I can get back to it.
Age of Empires II: The Conquerors (fuck starcraft, I just don't like the combat, it sucks in my opinion, although props cuz it's a classic) S.T.A.L.K.E.R Clear Sky (With tons of fucking mods(I bet the Call of Pripyat is tons of fun)) Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (story kinda epic(from what I remember) but multiplayer is kick-ass) Imperivm III: Great Battles of Rome (maybe) Dungeons and Dragons Online (if you play with friends in real life) No order in particular
1: WoW, simply because I have played it on and off more than any PC game 2: Diablo 2 3: Starcraft 2 4: Red Orchestra 5: UT 2004 6: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy 2 7: Warcraft 3 8: Sins of a Solar Empire 9: Wolfenstein 10: Meat Gone Bad
Only PC games I've ever played was call of duty.... forget which one. Moving against russia as the brits and some middle east dictator as americans. Great game. And and the only other one is age of empires 3... which I love. I'm so fucking great at that game but never was able to figure out how to play it online. But I play that shit on expert mode AND I give the other team a 50-100 economic advantage. And I still almost always win. But I can only win on expert if I do treaty mode. My stragity is more defencive based.... draining their resources over time having them try to get past my defences (impossable) and fighting over trading posts then finishing them off with one big strike after softening them up further with navel bombardments. And even if I do loose I like levels where there are islands. You get your first colony destroied... have a ship docked with the resources to build up a new one on an island. it's almost impossable for a ship to reach o an island fort. And they wont be able to fire enough mortors to soften it up enough. Put walls along the coast and even if they get to the shore they can't offload soliders.
Ah, I like threads like these. I notice a lot of excellent classics have been left out so far. My list: 1. Fallout 2 (1 and 3 are also great games) 2. UFO: Enemy unknown 3. Civilization (4 and 1 mostly, 2 & 3 were ok, I hear 5 is rubbish) 4. Deus Ex 5. Baldur's Gate (Whole series) 6. Morrowind 7. Warcraft 2 / Starcraft 8. Rome: Total War 9. Adventure games! Especially Indiana Jones , Sam & Max, and Zac McCracken 10 Football manager! Many more great games to choose from, though...
Wait, I remembered another one. Sim city was pretty damn fun. I really enjoied building a giant city up from scratch (electric, plumbing... it's almost like actual engeenering) and being a dictator.
If you like age of empires you should try out warcraft 3. strategy games are very fun. oh and to the person that put roller coaster tycoon in their list. heck ya that game rules. I still play it. I could a top 20 list if I wanted to. In my middle school years I was a huge video gamer.
Rollercoaster tycoon is great too. I used to make these special sealed off areas, like a pit in the ground or a cage. And I'd put all the pretty flowers and trees in there, bathrooms, food and drink places. And then I'd just put a bunch of people in there and tried to keep them happy. No matter what I did they never stayed happy for too long. I gavew them more gardens, more entertainment, more bathrooms... but all they kept thinking is "I want to go home" and "Where's the exit" So I drowned them. Ungrateful bastards.
yeah this game rules. i just recently beat the whole game. I like this on more than the newer ones. the reason everyone wants to go home on your levels though is because they want the paths to be simple, otherwise they get all confused and lost and wanna go home.
