People always talk about how you have to be ready for it, which can take a long time. But if it only lasts for 10 minutes then what is the harm? Yes, I realise that it is much more than that, and that it changes your perception and whatnot. But what exactly are the lasting damages?
You get depressed for a few weeks maybe? Worst trip I ever had just put me off from DMT for a couple months.
instead of arriving in heaven you find yourself in hell. 10 minutes in hell is not like a normal ten minutes. you will be very, very shaken, for a time.
stop listening to scare stories. it takes some practice to break through, you'll be comfortable with it before you do. have fun, it's astonishingly good. It doesn't take "being ready", just an open mind. Don't be scared of it. Do it with someone there, to take the pipe off you, and wait for the 5 or 10 mins you might be out for. If you want to experiment in an easier and less intense way first, smoke some changa. Simple.
^ Lol who are you? I broke through on my 2nd attempt first day with it, I agree its not something to be scared of but it was incredibly intense, Not something I would downplay.
Stop listening to the people who are trying to scare you. The higher doses can be very intense, but completely mind-blowingly amazing. No one is prepared for it. I've smoked over 50 times and I still tremble when I first light the pipe. You're right, it's only 10 minutes. 10 minutes feels like a long time when you're disembodied energy soaring through space and time, but it will end in 10 minutes and you'll be normal again. If it reassures you I've had only one terrifyingly bad trip out of 50+ AWESOME trips, and that was when I decided to smoke while sick with a flu.
what's a "bad" DMT trip like? i don't think i've ever read about one. i would think one good, proper trip on DMT would put one off it for a month or two.
Bad Dmt trip @Porckstock: The first paragraph here is what I would consider my only 'bad' trip (certainly unpleasant trip if we need to split hairs) with dmt. Imo I think a salvia 'bad' trip has a way of torturing the mind that I've yet to experience on DMT. I'm with both skizm and you though, I think a superbly great or unpleasant Dmt trip will probably keep one away from it for a bit.
The one bad trip I had everything went grey/black. The only visuals I could see (open/closed eye) were a blurry red dot. I kept hearing incredibly loud and frightening explosions and gunshots. There was a freezing wind blasting my body apart, the cold was so intense it was actually painful. I felt like my extremities were getting frostbite. Everything felt so very wrong. And it lasted forever in my time. Again that happened when I smoked while sick, but it put me off dmt for a month or more.
I really brought it upon myself when it comes down to it. I came upon ~2grams of DMT, gave a gram out to my friends and then smoked the rest of it myself in a very short time span. My last dose I ended up seeing violent visions of my death which included me throwing up, pooping, and bleeding everywhere. I got back from it and decided maybe I had done a little too much in the past few weeks and that I should stop. Waited several months and all was good with DMT. Now, I've had rough trips with mushrooms before and for me, they were worse than the above experience with DMT. Throughout the DMT trip I was not scared, just really uncomfortable. REALLY uncomfortable. I knew it would end, but I couldn't stop wondering why it was happening like this.
just figured i'd rub it in a lil more:sunny: it was pretty cool, but i think it woulda been cooler on 2ce. i can't freakin remember the artists' name who made this piece out of hemp leaves, random assortment of pills and a see through resin. it was a landscape with like a psychedelic net over it. but when you got close enough you could see it was made of all these objects. fred or frank someone...
anyone who claims you must be prepared for it, in reality is not prepared for it... if that makes any sense
You will be fine, my friends and I are all 16-19 years old and we all tried it for the first time about 5 months ago all at the same time basically, we all had amazing experiences. I broke through on my first trip, and at fist it was overwhelming, all I can say is that there is no way to prepare for what comes. You can only trust the DMT and not fight it.
