when i lay down to go to bed at night,i end up loosing all my strength.like out of nowhere i cant move or anything,i try to lift my arms but i cant.i try to move my head, leggs, feet but still nothing.i can move my eyes and thats about it and when i try to holler help it dont come out,and if i do get a sound out its not even what i was trying to say.its just like a slurd word or something.but not a clear word. i also feel like im gonna have a heart attack when it happens, or like a ton of adrenaline rush in a row and they feel massively overwhelming. Also theres times where out of no where it sounds like a bomb went off in my head but obviously a bomb didnt go off in my head...or anywhere else near me for that matter. I was wondering if someone could help me figure out whats going on with me?

It's called sleep paralysis. Happens to a lot of people, me included from time to time. What happens is the hormone that paralyzes the body during sleep is released, but the brain is awake. Often, the brain starts to dream while still awake, which can cause funky hallucinations. I had an oscillating fan sing "I am the Walrus" to me at one point. Freaky. But it's generally not harmful, as scary as it is. If you're into that sort of thing, I hear you can induce an out-of-body experience from it rather easily. I've never been lucid enough to try at that point, myself.

Are you laying on your back to sleep? That can make them worse. I've never had one on my side, always on my back. Since I rarely sleep on my back, it's a rare thing for me.

In the end, I wouldn't worry. It's perfectly normal.

Call a priest. This is obviously a case of demonic possession. May god have mercy on your soul!

^^^This. That's exactly what I thought of while reading your description. I went through it for a period of time and still do occasionally. It is very disturbing and disconcerting but you don't have to worry about the heart attack. It's just a crazy psychological SNAFU. There are many ways to reduce its occurrence but you have to find what works for you. Inadvertently while on SSRIs, I noticed they eliminated my sleep paralysis episodes... but I don't recommend psych meds... You can PM me if you'd like to discuss it, it's always nice to compare notes with a fellow sleep paralysis "victim" heh ;)

sleep paralysis and hypnogagic hallucinations, fa sho. I used to get this really bad, every single night, but once I became aware of what it was the experience took on a lucid quality and then eventually stopped. its really scary when it happens though isn't it? I had bad sleep problems for a while because I was scared to sleep, I knew as soon as I drifted off my body would become paralyzed and I would start hearing crazy ass noises and seeing weird shadows and spirits

Yes it is :[ and it seems like even if i do calm my self down during the experience, something creepy/scary will happen and then i get all freaked again.and it dont just last a few minutes either.iv had it happen for around 15 minutes a few times.Yea i have sleep problems like i cant sleep most of the time so it sucks and iv tryed sleeping pills but they get me to sleep after 2 hours and only help give me an hour of sleep then il be up again.

I get the best out of Sleep paralysis when laying on one side and looking at the tv with one eye open and one shut.. as Im trying to stay awake the dark side my eye takes over and some really cool FREE Tripping shit happens.. Dont like much when my arms dont work, cause I have problems with joint pain. but know whats going on so i dont worry to much..
