They? You mean me. So say she.
You're probably not the only one who finds that funny.
But i'm rarely on here anymore and thought maybe someone else might be inspired to delete facebook too. It takes up too much time. I really don't need to be on facebook to know John Rogers is eating a sandwich. Or Stacy Dunkin is drunk.

The difference between hipforums and facebook is.. Only on hipforums would someone admit that they have been having sex with their sandwich. Or that they choose acid over alcohol. It's much more entertaining. People are less inhibited on here than they are on a social networking site with all their family and friends.

    Ya i'm updating you :p but I'm only 1 day clean!!!!!!! :2thumbsup:

welcome, i would get rid of mine but it's needed for my studies

but that says it all, group work now is 'done over facebook' work, as people become more and more scared of social interaction. fuckin' blows.

I guess I am in the minority in that I like facebook. It is the easiest way to keep in contact with my Oregon friends, so that is really all I care about.

I like it, too, because all of my friends moved away and it's the only real means of communication I have with most of them these days.

I think facebook can be whatever you want it to be. I only have people I am actually friends with as friends on it, I don't waste my life playing games all day on it, so really I don't see the big deal about it.

Problem with facebook is that it has become more than a site to talk with friends. It has become something that steals your own privacy, pictures, anything you post. It does this without you even knowing. Its all part of the game to understand a general population which will then present itself with a new form of addiction. This in the end is only for a select group to make money. Use the public for ones benefits. It is one of many forms of addiction manipulated to keep you in line. I refuse to support it.

Maybe some of us are strong enough to use it for what WE want. If someone wants to do something with that picture of my cat, I guess they can. I don't post anything personal or put up pictures that are that personal either.

I didn't say you can't use it, by all means go ahead you should always have the right to do what you want.

To say though if someone whats to do something with your pic "I guess they can" is wrong. That is only my opinion.

Im a strong believer that if someone wants to use something of mine they need to ask. Not just take, regardless of what it is.

Facebook takes, its using your own personal property for its finical benefits. It's depressing, and very mind boggling why anyone thinks this is ok.

Also I still don't understand the whole it puts your information on the internet to be stolen. You can just, oh I don't know, not put any information on facebook? If you're that paranoid why are you on the internet. I can find more out about you by clicking view all posts on your hipforums account and looking through them, and any photos you post from say photobucker or flickr can easily be tracked back to your account there and with a simple IP trace, welp.

In essence the main privacy issues with it is, any content you post essentially then becomes property of Facebook and they can do what they want with, regardless of your wishes.

Zuckergberg wants Facebook to be so integrated with EVERY facet of the internet that EVERY website will retrieve data from your page as well as submit data "tailored" to you, and track where and what you do.

Question to those of you using it and say there is no problem, did you actually read the entire privacy policy and terms of use agreement. I tried and had to stop because reading text this big gives me a headache, but what I did read didn't sound to convincing that they are simply a benign "social networking" site with no ulterior motives. Actually they are up front about how they can and will use your data and content to make Zuckerberg another billion$$. Whether that is through using your content for advertising or generating specific sales campaigns that are utilized by other companies, he is still using your personal info to make a buck.
