I see a lot of people who tout the positive benefits, but there's also people who have used it that say its all negative and no good. How do you know if you're gonna have the effects of the former or the latter? I'm of the mind that if you just go with it, don't fight it, and are prepared to have any phobia, complex, assumption, or prejudice challenged, that you'll have no problem with it. Am I possibly missing something? I wanna make sure I don't take the plunge and end up one of these people who are apparently damaged in some way by LSD use.

ultimately there is no way to know. your attitude is good and will help you. past that, what will be will be.

^ agreed, your general attitude, also where your at in life, happy, sad etc, general emotional state is a good thing to consider too, that being sad i have tripped when i have been depressed, although it wasn't clinical depression...

IME people that just go with the flow and surrender come out fine, fight it and it will fight you back.

Fight it and it just might kick your ass and leave a whimpering, trembling snot covered bag of insignificant flesh where you used to be. :p

Really the most disturbing thing a psychedelic experience can do is show you yourself, warts and all, in the glaring light of honesty. that is more often than not the impetus for "bad" trips. But yeah MellowViper, you seem to have the proper mind set to delve into it, although I would say you should lose that vestige of fear that is still there. If you have never had any type of major psychological issues or a family history of such, you should be fine.
Again the above is my opinion and experience, your mileage may vary.:sunny:

I don't have any psychological issues or any major personal issues. If I do wrong, I try to the best of my ability to respect myself and other people. The issue of evil in the world might bother me, but I ultimately see that as the result of individuals not being able to see things outside their own perspective. I'll give up on the fear and just delve into it as someone noted. Its probably like fire walking in that way. You just have to trust the trip I'm taking it. My intention is ultimately self improvement and doing away with subconscious blockages and presumptions about myself to help meet my best potential as an individual participating in the larger organism of reality.

I garuntee you that you will most likely have a good experience, even if you hit some rough patches, most people do to one degree or another, just don't obsess over shit and remember this too will pass if it gets uncomfortable. But I bet the most overiding thing you will think the first time is "this is awesome, but what was all the hysteria about?"
    Good journey's to you:2thumbsup:

How much are you planning to imbibe for your maiden voyage?

i agree with all of the above. haha i have had some amazing, eye-opening, life and attitude altering, unspeakably beautiful experiences on LSD... and i've had some of the most horrifying, soul destroying, brain ravaging times too.... i dont think that it's something that agrees with everybody, and i can say that in my experience it is 100% based on how comfortable you are with your self, your environment, and the people you are with. if you are not good at adjusting to major shifts in reality, or if you arent around people you love and trust, with love, good vibes and positive mojo, you might have one of those not so fun trips. LSD is kind of like life that way.
