    I do love H-town./....

Lived and worked in the Heights/Montrose area for years....most recently lived in Oak Forest. Unfortunately I moved a year and a half ago....BUT I would LOVE to hook you all up with the LAST CONCERT CAFE....oasis in the middle of the warehouse district...some of the most kind people in Houston, incredible mexican food, and the music!

you MUST go please, do it for me! Knock on the red door, it was a brothel back on the day, so they kept the old tradition....I met some of my very best friends there

    http://www.lastconcert.com

also I worked at the King Biscuit for years

    www.kingbiscuitcafe.com

I hope this gives y'all some new things to do....Ill be living there by next summer

    shine on

    Jen

Last concert cafe would be really cool.
I don't know much about the place though.
Are they ok about having drums there.
How does it sound to everyone else I don't know.
But I would like to hear others opinions.
At the moment the Venue is at a park in tomball.

Yay! The Cafe is my favorite bar in the whole world. I lived in Houston for about 5 years, and it was like a little piece of heaven to me. Hightailers and Potroast nights, Moses Guest, Watermelon Festival. I love that place.

I know that they have pot roast (band) / drum circle on the calender...
I was only thinking, many of y'all are under 21, but I know they have 18 and up shows too...

dance for me, tell Dogman (from the Hightaliors), and Allan, (behind the bar)...I said HI,

Well, I will send them your love. You can count on that. (promise)
And this is the first meet up, I just had a spark to try to get people to Unite and Gather. So I got online and tried to get the word out.
Now The "word" is very slim at the moment. But I hope that more people will meet.
At the moment, I'm asking for everyone to please help to spread the word.
Thank you so much, brothers and sisters.

Last concert cafe seems to be a very enchanting place.
A place where I will be going for now on.
How long did you work there?

I'm going to try and post the event more places.
But at our first meet up , we can talk about how we can get the meet up to get more known. We can work together on this.
If you all are up to it.

Actually, I 'worked" at the King Biscuit (the other link I posted there) They have INCREDIBLE food and a great atmosphere (if you are ever in the Heights and hungry, it is 1606 White Oak,,,,yummy nachos, enchiliadas, salads, organic now!)

I did "work" at the Last Concert as well, but setting up my tie dye booth, doing hairwraps and Hemp Jewelery.

anyway, I wish you many years of enjoyment there, and who knows, maybe I will meet you there some Watermelon Fest. Ill be the crazy red head with the cute, but loud kids!

    peace

I don't think the "bar" is only for minors.
Because on Texas drums comity's web site, Last concert cafe is posted.
And every Wednesday they have a drum circle, and the post reads "everyone welcome."

But at the moment I'm thinking of having the meet up at a cool park.
And naming the meet up. "A Day In The Park," how do you feel about the location.

And I'm going to last concert cafe on Wednesday.
And if everyone wants to check it out that would be wonderful.
Maybe we can have a meet up there in the near future.

For some reason the last link I gave to Houston Hippies forum was bad.
    This link should work http://houstonhippies.proboards38.com/
If this does not work, just email me at Sagemeadows@aol.com To get directions to the meet up. At the moment the meet up is at Spring Creek Park.
You can also call me at 281-255-2566.
