"Howdy Folks"...Ocala 2011 Rainbow Gathering...

"Howdy Folks" ....The Florida family will be hosting the 2011 Rainbow Gathering in the Ocala National Forest at Farles Prairie.
We will be using the N/E side this year...
Seed Camp will be Jan.28th-Feb.4th
The Gathering will be Feb.5th- Feb.20th
Clean up is Feb.21st-Feb.27th
We are using the (599-a) as our main Bus Village & for Larger Supply (food ,water,eqt,ect)as well as,
The first 2000 feet of the (599=30) to be Live aboard's as well as the first 1200 feet of the west side of the (562=53)
Parking is on the North end (599=30) only on the South side of the Road
Parking on the East side is on the (562=53) only on the West side of the Road...."Warning" this road has "Sugar Sand"
Parking on the South side has to be on the West side of Trail Head (NOT IN DAY USE AREA)...
We will be moving Main Circle 2000 feet E-N/E this year ..."Closer for All"....site TBA on Jan.28th ...We are still scouting...

Thank you for posting directions to gathering this year, hopefully will be able to come down there this year, it's been very, very, cold here in Baltimore. I'm not quite sure the dates seem earlier than when it's the usual time, but oh well. Hope you are doing well, alot of folks are having a hard time these days. Haven't heard from anyone in Philly for quite some time, and wonder what the weather is going to like in Fla. this year. PEACE & BLESSINGS! lOVE yA. Linda

this year is going to be a permitted gathering.....

 

why is this a bummer?

ive only been to two gatherings both in ocala i think they've always had permits. it was explained to me then but ive since forgot.

is it going to stop people from turning out?

you must be a newbee to gatherings, or have you forgotten, that at the 1981 washington nations, that family as a whole, has consensed not to sign any other permits.............

 

Why did they get a permit?

 

Some family at some time dealing with other issues and different laws concensed ...

Other family at other times made different choices.

Where were you at the annual Florida Family Council ten days or so ago, to tell us, your High Holiness, what your opinion of our choices was? Oops, too much effort ... what a surprise!

The Fl gathering has been a permitted gathering for a looooong time.. Has it kept me out of the woods ? NO. Will it ? NO. Come and gather with family/friends, we will be waiting..

sice no one yet has stooped to answer my question on the thread i`d say that, yes not-signing permits was maybe a good idea in the past. a remnant of solidarity maybe.

We held out when it benefit's, We use there laws on them when it benefit's. Just like using a coupon to get a little sumptin off/better.

I read on the rainbow festival website that there are or can be shuttles (flat bed trucks)
That run from the parking area to the camping areas. Does anyone have any info on this?

 

The Larger Gatherings have had shuttles and they are awesome and HIGHLY recommended to use or to Wait for.... Well worth the little wait. Ocala we are parking at the entrances so no where to shuttlle. You can boat in about 1/4 to a third the way.

Lake: Water is LOW and CANNOT Pass thru into the 2nd part to the Scow Dock area we had in '07!!!!


An Average Trail Hiker can walk the WHOLE site thru, around the lake and back to front gate before Lunch.


IRIS Kitchen was boated in Yesterday and will be Madly setting up today in the rains.

Some rain's today and tomorrow......
