No one voted for the very first hippie!?! Jesus, how odd. I really don't think I would follow a drug crazed sex addict with scocial problems in to the future. I can't imagain a president sitting around smoking up or shooting up and being able to take care of the country. We'd be talking Iranian by now, and wearing turbans. Have you done any research on the people you have mentioned. All of them were heroin addicts/speed freeks/acid heads. Now there's some people that can run a country... good grief.
I declared myself a country of one under a little known Federal Law a while back. So......I have things to do in the funzone. There are no other people here, just 9 dogs and 4 cats. Also some frogs, worms, garter snakes, assorted buzz byes and flap thrus. I plan a democratic election with me running as head dood. I may abstain from voting. For shameless heifers info, I don't do any drugs except tobacco, but anyone who wants to act stupid and get the fake spiritual feeling they are happy on drugs is allowed in the funzone. Don't expect me to sit and talk for hours on end to a moron who can't listen though. I listen more than enough to the morons in my head who come in telepathically. Besides that there is a lot of work here like sorting through thousands of bags and boxes of donated stuff. Just like Christmas, that's why I call it the funzone! love and peace Honor Seed
I hope not to offend you little brother, but hippies appeared out of the need not to be led. Hippies stood/stand for the freedom to wade against the agendas of those who seek enforce the "corporate will" on individual's minds. Hippies spoke/speak in unison for individual rights. A single voice is easily overpowered by the voice of many speaking together.
no problem. this election is only an experiment to test (and to mock) election in hippiedom. ironically i voted for the last choice, which is "hippies dont need a leader".
something i have trouble dealing with is being labelled a hippie. hippie is not a title. it is a lifestyle, a culture, a path leading to the same place, just done in our own individualistic way. groovy. hippiedom will never die because it is in us and cannot be removed. diggy.
Let's play pretend and not worry about leading the country. (Just think back to some of our leaders since 65 and the powers behind them, drugs might helped) I'm gonna vote for Ken Kesey or Peter Coyote.
under standard norms, hippies don't need leaders. there are, however, those who, often without even realizing it, lead by example. under such circumstances i would probably have to vote for neil young(epitome of rocker/hippie). diggy
