Iam just here listening to terrence Mckenna on psychadelics and iam wondering who here has taken Dmt? Whats the experience like? Beneficial? Thanks, its something id like to try during my life if the opportunity ever presents itself. By the way, Mckenna is a fucking genius.
I've been trying to breakthrough with DMT for the last few months, but no luck on every attempt so far. I've used up like half a gram up to this point.. :nopity:
Broke through the second time I tried it, an omnipotent being I can only describe as god with my vocabulary whispered into my soul and showed me on so many levels why I am a terrible person and why I deserve to be face down in shit for eternity.
The experience is the fucking coolest, most spaced out trip of the sertonin hallucinogens. As far as being beneficial, I dunno. I think LSD, shrooms and mescaline are probably more beneficial and valuable experiences but it can definitely rock you to your core.
DMT is extreme. It's a good kind of extreme though. Like salvia is a terrifying kind of extreme, DMT is a very awesome, colorful, mind blowing, deep, insane, picturesque, whatever you'd like to call it. When I broke through it was awesome, seemed like I was falling through space in this blue circling vortex/turbine like thing. When I finally came out of it my head just shifted through the window and the sun was shining through and it was an orgasm of beauty. Still very intense though, I have constant and cheap access to DMT at any waking moment, haven't broken through since that time though. I've done it a few times since then but purposely not enough to break through.
i'd say its worth a try. although i haven't had much of a mentally beneficial experience with the stuff, but the few times i got a good hit were amazing. it's always exciting and the initial power of it all is humbling, its a scenic route at the very least.
This summer I am going to try DMT. I've denied it every time offered for the last 3 years. I feel like I am ready now. So next time I'm offered, I will accept.
ain't that the truth? i've listened to just about every recorded workshop, lecture, conference, interview and seminar in existence by Terence. his words and ideas constantly inspire me. i also have all of his books (except the magic mushroom growers guide co-authored by his brother). one of those individuals who has just got such a refreshingly original point of view, and the motivation to get out there and not merely try to persuade peoples beliefs, but to encourage them to open their mind and think about things in ways that might be at odds with conventional wisdom.. a man who realized admitting our own ignorance is perhaps the first step on the way to understanding the true nature of things, and that the future of our race depends on dissolving ego by any means necessary (meditation, drumming, psychedelics etc) and making a shift back toward the very diminshed role the ego had in and around the hunter-gatherer era i miss the guy
I'm lucky enough to know a guy who makes it, and he gives me some for free. You should definitely find a way to make some yourself because chances are you won't find anyone else who makes it. I'm doing a research project on Terence Mckenna. If you ever get the chance definitely try to smoke as much as possible because that will be the most beneficial trip.
He was a way fucking cool dude. I have that book food of the gods, which i've been reading off and on for a year or so. Sometimes its a little bit hard to understand where he's going but when he breaks through you can tell he's got something figured out. His lectures are always a good choice too. The whole thing about how psychedelics fit into this overpopulated electronic world something worth pondering.
yeah dude his ideas were one of a kind. Its sad that we as a human race still havent pushed ourseleves to reach the human paradise he described in one of his lectures. Its also very surprising.
to the OP: The best way I could ever put DMT do you is that its just beyond this reality. the basics of science says all matter is energy. E=mc2, and energy cannot be created or destroyed it can only be changed. When you hit the dmt pipe, assuming you did it right, you are taken away from your body. In this realm, you dont know what a body is, you dont have a body in this realm, so dont be looking for it. as you are in a forum of nothing but pure energy. and everything you experience is all energy, so everything is real - its just not matter. you will encounter different types of energys within this nexus of entitys. each provided you with its own reaction of you, some good, some mean, some happy, some sad, some curious, some insightful. some will talk telepathically, others right through your emotions. sometimes it happens so fast its hard to understand, but the first thing you should always relize about dmt, where you are going, you are not the person you wake up every monring as, your not a creature with a body, you are energy, your soul, inside of you. dont even think about a body in this realm, because it is not real. this realm is full of many different lessons, but the first and most important lesson off of dmt is being able to let go of yourself, and accept what you truly are within yourself, your soul, your entity. some people think we are a human looking for a spiritual experience, when we are truly a spirit apart of a human experience. you must let go of who you are in this realm, and return to an ancient forum of yourself. dmt is very magical, very ancient, very spiritual. and should be done with the utter most respects. I have come to find it is harder to smoke dmt then extract dmt. It requires alot of pratice. Its similar to doing lsd for your first few times, sometimes your a bit overwhelmed and not sure what to do. by your 20th, 30th time, you experienced, so you know what to do with it all, how to handle it. its just like dmt, it takes practice. smoking dmt is a true skill.
i was in big ruts as a teenager but it changed from lsd. once i was able to find an amazing source , and for a while i would ingest high amounts constantly .. at this point of my life i said 'lsd is what changed my life' . the first two times i did dmt i did not break through, though the feeling from it were still making me feel 'there must be more' and i thoroughly enjoyed what did happen. the first time i broke through,..oo.. 5 minutes later, there was no doubt in my mind to say that dmt is what changed my life. every single dmt experience i have had since then has been very important to me. i, love, dmt. i love both. i am unsure if it is sad that i love those things, but whatev!
I don't think DMT is a requirement to reach enlightenment. I have seen enlightenment through many substances but often that enlightenment fades away as time goes by. True enlightenment is when you can reach that state of mind without the use of a substance. Allow the substance to show you what can be and make it a point to get there own your own. That is the true journey. That will be more rewarding in the end than constantly relying on psychedelics to take you there. 'I think psychedelics play a major part in what we do, but having said that, I feel that if somebody's going to experiment with those things they really need to educate themselves about them. People just taking the chemicals and diving in without having any kind of preparation about what they're about to experience tend to have no frame of reference, so they're missing everything flying by and all these new perspectives. It's just a waste. They reach a little bit of spiritual enlightenment, but they end up going, 'Well, now I need that drug to get back there again.' The trick is to use the drugs once to get there, and maybe spend the next ten years trying to get back there without the drug.' - MJK
i hope that this summer brings me some, i think a heavy psychadelic trip would change me for the better, and since i cant do lsd, anxiety and that other bullshit iam hoping that this thing is the next best thing for me.
